According to the latest rumors coming from rumor mills, Sigma is working on Nikon Z and Canon RF mount lenses. And we may see some official announcements from Sigma in 2021.
Although Canon and Nikon both Mounts are closed and not officially opened for any third-party lens makers. To make RF and Z Mount lenses they have to do reverse engineering and test extensively before making it official.

According to the latest rumors surfaced over the web Canon EOS R5s camera is rumored to carry a 90MP DPAF CMOS Sensor. The camera will also feature pixel-shift high-resolution mode
Canon EOS R5s Specification
- Approxamently 90mp sensor
- “Pixel-shift”. Total resolution “approx300mp”.
- Canon EOS R5 Body design
- Video features are “NOT a focus” of the Canon EOS R5s. (as expected)
- Image stabilization will be a “slightly different version” than the current RF mount cameras.
- Pricing will be “similar” to the Canon EOS R5.
- Announcement scheduled for Q1 of 2021

According to the latest rumors surfaced over the web, Canon’s next entry-level Fullframe camera may carry a 30MP sensor as we have seen in the Canon EOS R camera. According to the latest rumors, a 30MP camera prototype spotted with a Digic X image processor.
Not only that, Canon EOS Rp / R has a massive discount on their price tag. Maybe an attempt to clear the stocks of the existing cameras?

On September 2, 2020, Sony revealed the development of the FX6 Cinema Camera, which is slated to launch by the end of the year. In the latest patent, it looks like Canon is working to improve the AF Acquisition Time of the camera.
TVAF Unit and Phase Difference AF
TVAF is actually Contrast Detect AF unit, which is highly accurate as well as time consuming. It calculates the amount of Lens movment actually requires to focus on Subject, but it do need more time. In genral Plane Phase difference unit works in combination of TVAF for higher aquraccy. Canon working to improve the AF performance of the camera by adding next genration of TVF unit which will work in combination of DPAF pixels and advance AI programs.
Don’t get confused with Phase detect AF system, we are here talking about Phase Difference AF and TVF Unit. In Dual pixel CMOS AF System, each photo diode detects the signal separately. This allows photodiodes to be used together, as a Phase difference detection AF sensor.
Overall from the patent docuements it’s look like Canon is working to improve the AF lock time of their future cameras.

As per the latest rumors surfaced over the web, Canon is working in two different APS-C RF Mount bodies. May be these are the working protoypes of the same model. The only noticable difference is one has EVF and other doesn’t. As per latest rumors, if everthing goes on schedule we will see Canon APS-C RF Mount camera on 2nd half of 2021.

As per the latest rumors surfaced over the web, we may see Astrophotography dedicated camera Canon R5a in the 2nd half of 2020. Canon EOS R5a will be a modified version of the original EOS R5 that incorporates an optical IR cut filter in front of the sensor for photographing distant nebulae and other astronomical phenomena with utmost clarity.
Update: The announcement of the dedicated Astro camera delayed due to production line issues. We may expect to see R5a in 2022.
