Meike new product, the AF33mm F1.4 APS-C lens, will be be released soon. This lens has an equivalent full-frame field of view of approximately 50mm when used with APS-C or DX crop body, a minimum focusing distance of 0.4m, a 55mm filter interface, and is compatible with Nikon Z/Fuji X/Sony E mounts. It has a similar appearance and lens body size to the Meike AF55mm F1.4 lens which is being already announced in the market, and is expected to be priced competitively ($199 approx).
Viltrox, during NAB 2024, invited social media influencers to showcase (and organically advertise ) all their latest lab lenses at their booth. One of the primary attractions is, without a doubt, the AF 135 mm f/1.8 lens made for Nikon Z and Sony E mount. The booth number is C 8732 and it has been active from April 14th to 17th.
Blackmagic announces the URSA Cine 12K camera. The latest announcement features a full-frame 12K sensor and Blackmagic claims it has 16 stops of dynamic range. The camera can record Blackmagic RAW up to 12K in a 3:2 open gate format. If you talk about frame rates, even while you are recording 12K, you can record it at 120 frames per second without any crop.
The camera features built-in 2.4 and 6 stops of IRND filters. For streaming, the camera features 5G Wi-Fi support, RJ45 connectivity, as well as a USB-C port for fast data transfer.
Full Frame 12K Sensor upto 120 FPS without CROP
One of the big interesting parts of this camera is you’re getting a full-frame sensor and 12K recording option with 120 frames per second recording without crop. Not only that, you can record 8K videos up to 240 FPS, you can record 6K videos as well as 4K, and all these frame rates and resolutions are available to you without any crop.
SUPER 35mm 9K Mode
Super 35mm mode is available at 9K recording where the frame rates of the camera go up to 160 frames per second.
No Dual NATIVE ISO support at initial release
No dual native ISO is available in the Blackmagic URSA Cine 12K camera. It may be a decision made by Blackmagic itself not to include dual native ISO in the first release. Maybe in the future, we will have it with the firmware updates, who knows, but at the initial firmware version, we are not able to use dual native ISO in the camera.
You can also alter the settings of the Focus Puller wheel via the Display screen menus
Included High performance rack mount flash storage, features 8TB
8- terabytes of modular memory slots are available which are included with the camera and CF Express (optional) is also available. But when you use CF Express cards in your camera, then some upper-limit frame rates will be cut off. So the maximum power of the camera can only be driven when you are using the available 8 terabyte memory module with the camera.
ACTIVE EF Mount with AutoFocus Support (Future Update)
Autofocus is also coming to the Blackmagic URSA Cine 12K camera via a firmware update in the future in Canon EF mount, or it’s better to say it will have an active Canon EF mount. But unfortunately, we will have the contrast style of focus support, so don’t expect too much on the autofocus side.
SSD Storage as an option in URSA 12K Cine Camera (Future Update)
The other major thing that will also be available in the upcoming firmware updates is the ability to record directly to an SSD drive via the USB-C port connectivity. But note that you have to sacrifice some frame rates and other camera performance when using an external SSD. The best performance is only available when using the internal available 8-terabyte memory module of the camera.
