Canon SX60 HS vs Nikon P600

Canon-SX60-HS-cameraSensor: Both camera features same resolution but the Nikon COOLPIX P600 features ISO range upto 12800 but Canon PowerShot SX60 HS has a ISO range of the ISO range of 6400 only.  Due to better ISO range P600 may deliver better images in low light conditions.

Lens: The Canon features 65X optical zoom lens and Nikon comes with 60X zoom lens, so you get 5X more zoom compared to Nikon,  The Macro mode of Canon is bit better since the Canon PowerShot SX60 HS features a macro range of 0cm which makes it ideal for getting large size macro images greater details. However the macro range of Nikon COOLPIX P600 is limited to 1cm.

AF Point: Canon PowerShot SX60 HS supports up to 31 AF point, whereas the AF points of Nikon COOLPIX P600 is not specified.

Shutter:  Nikon COOLPIX P600 features better shutter range compared to Canon PowerShot SX60 HS and Nikon COOLPIX P600 features fast shooting speed compared to Canon PowerShot SX60 HS.

Nikon COOLPIX P600 Video Mode: Nikon COOLPIX P600 features full HD 1920 x 1080 resolution video at 60 frames per second .

Display: Nikon COOLPIX P600 features 3.0″ LCD Swivel (922,000 pixels), whereas Canon PowerShot SX60 HS 3″ 921k-Dot LCD Vari-angle Rear Screen. Where P600’s screen can be tilted to 180’ upwards , there SX60’s screen can be adjusted to many different angles according to the shooting condition.

Dimensions: Nikon COOLPIX P600 is bit smaller than Canon PowerShot SX60 HS.

Weight: Nikon COOLPIX P600 is almost 100gms smaller than Canon PowerShot SX60 HS which makes it easy to carry and work with.

Verdict: With Canon you get more Zoom lens and with Nikon you get more ISO range and bit better video quality, so if you are looking for zoom camera you may prefer Canon SX60 HS.

HTC today announces its new RE camera, the camera design is very unique and new, the device features 16-megapixel sensor and a 146-degree wide-angle lens to cover ultra wide scenes, as you can see on the back side it features a single button for capturing still image and recording videos, while you press the and hold it will record videos and and just touch the button to capture regular still images of 16 megapixel.

The waterproof camera features a 820 mAh battery, when the battery is fully charged you can take upto 1,200 photos or you can record non-stop HD videos up to 1 hour and 40 minutes. Canon to Announce a New Big Sensor Compact Camera

Canon-APS-C-CompactCanon Netherlands website is teasing a new big sensor compact camera with fixed zoom lens and attractive design, the core specification is not known yet but there are few possibilities, take a look below

#1 Canon may announce a APS-C sensor compact camera, it is possible the canon may use APS-C sensor with Dual pixel AF technology in a compact body. It will sure kill Nikon coolpix A and X100T sales.

#2 Zoom camera similar to Panasonic FZ1000 and Sony RX10, as we already know that Canon used RX100 M3 sensor inside Canon G7X camera and it is also possible that may announce a Sony RX10 competitor by using the same sensor.

#3 A Full frame Compact camera – Not possible if we look at the compact design above and Canon slow development history.

Sony 46 MP Camera Coming in Q1 of 2015

Canon 1DX Mark II Coming on 2015

According to the latest rumors Canon will announce at least two professional DSLR in 2015 featuring multilayer sensor technology, the announcement will start from Q1 of 2015 and 1DX replacement is also expected to arrive in Q3/Q4 of 2015.

My Thoughts
As Canon slowly upgraded its Rebel DSLRs with Dualpixel CMOS AF sensor Canon will sure bring the Dual-pixel and multilayer sensor technology to Full-frame camera. But will Canon 1DX replacement (Canon 1DX Mark II ) will carry a multilayer sensor or a Dual-Pixel CMOS AF sensor ?… or it is even possible that Canon may merge these both technology together to create a Dual-Pixel Multilayer Sensor…
