According to the latest rumors surfaced over the web Canon will soon announce Canon G17 along with the Canon S120 successor before the PhotoPlus show begins on October 21, 2015 in New York City.

Our view about Canon G16 update / Canon G17
Canon G16 update is due and after the announcement of Canon G7X and G3X camera it’s really a big question does we really need a 1/1.7inch sensor based camera when we already have premium compacts with 1″ sensor from Canon. The other most important factor is price, the (1st gen) Sony RX100 camera is available at $448 @ B&H that features a 1″sensor with 20.2 Megapixels resolution and ISO upto 6400 on the other hand the Canon G16 with a small 1/1.7 inch sensor will cost you $399 (only $49 less compared to Sony RX100).

Canon should consider all these facts, they must announce a camera that must be affordable and feature rich.

What Canon S120 successor will be called when we already have S200 ?
Canon already announced the Canon S200 camera with in Asia by having similar specification as of Canon S110. Now what next camera will arrive under S series we don’t know at the moment. However the S series is know for its image quality, compactness and portability, prefect features for a travel pro photographer. After Canon G7X we really waiting to see what Canon will bring out under the name of Canon latest S series camera.
