Sony A6300 Over Heating Issue

Sony-A6300-PDF-manual-imageSony A6300 overheating issue has been surfaced over the web, according to camera users Sony A6300 camera overheats during video recording and automatically shut down.

Still we don’t have any word from Sony but we do hope they will issue press release related to the overheating problem. However the overheating problem in Sony camera is not new if we remember the problems of a33 and a55 cameras.

Take a look what other websites are saying

“Sadly pros can’t even rely on the A6300 as a B-camera due to the overheating, especially not for any kind of live filming or interview work at all.” (eoshd)

“Unlike my a5100 where i could just turn the switch on/off and it would just keep on shooting with a6300 if i turn it off and on the message appears again that it overheated and the camera shuts down. waited no kidding 3-4 min and turn it back on… same isssue turned off in less then 1 min.” (dpreview user forum)

Sony A6300 best everyday lens image

The Perfect everyday Lens

Samsung A6300 does comes with a optional Zoom lens 16-50mm, the collapsible-barrel design and a power zoom mechanism makes it smallest zoom lens of Sony E-mount series. The 16-50mm does show barrel distortion at the wide end but only in RAW files, If you shoot JPEG you even won’t notice any distortion due to image processing done by BionzX processor. AT tele-end the lens creates a eye pleasing bokeh and makes it perfect for taking portrait shots, however the Bokeh is not as creamy as you get in 50mm F1.8 Lens.

The lens features very light-weight (compared to the DSLR zoom lenses I have used till now) and gives you clear images even when captures at tele-end of the lens or at max aperture.

you will get super sharp images at F8 and F11, but don’t try to shoot portrait with this lens you won’t get satisfied.

Best macro Lens for Sony A6300 Camera

Sony 30mm F3.5

Best Sony A6300 Lens image

The Best and only macro Lens for Sony A6300 camera is Sony 30mm F3.5, the lens captures tack sharp images at 1:1 proportion. The lens features minimum focusing distance of 9.5 cm and the focal-length of the lens is 30cm. In general the standard Focal-Length of a normal macro DSLR lens varies between 60mm to 100mm, so with a 30mm macro lens you have to get closer to the subject to get a prefect shot.

Sony 18-200mm lens

Sony18-200mm-lens-image

The 18-200mm E-mount lens is one of the most versatile lens I have ever seen, the lens covers the need of kit and zoom lens. Best to use in daylight condition to get perfect shots. The lens works very well with the Sony’s current Hybrid Sensor AF. However the lens do suffers from distortions however it can be corrected by software’s later on.

The other drawback of the lens that it doesn’t allow you to zoom manually, the Lens act as a compact camera lens and takes bit time while zooming-in and out.

Don’t spend your bucks until you really need this lens, if you are a hardcore daylight travel photographer than you should buy this lens, otherwise think twice before getting it.

The Good: Covers a wide range, keeps you free from changing lenses

The Bad: Distortions and price

Sony E PZ 18-105mm f/4 G OSS Lens

Sony 18-105mm Lens image

Affordable alternative of Sony 16-70mm F4 Zoom lens is 18-105mm Lens, the 18-105mm lens will cost you half compared to the 16-70mm lens buy there are only two drawback of 18-105mm lens in front of 16-70 is as mentioned below

  1. The size of 18-105mm is quite big although the size of 16-70mm is not too small but manageable

The Sony advance Hybrid CMOS AF features 425 phase based AF points and 169 contrast based AF points, will allow camera to lock AF in a little time of 0.05 sec, on the other side the Panasonic features exclusive DFD auto-focus system. that also locks AF in .07 sec.  However Sony clearly wins the game by .02 sec difference.

Take a look at the difference in AF time of both the camera.

Continuous shooting speed 11 fps 10fps

Continuous shooting speed of A6300 is faster compared to Panasonic GX8 camera despite of having more resolution.

Dual IS in Panasonic GX8 is un-comparable, Panasonic becomes the world first company to feature Dual IS in a camera system, the Panasonic GX8 comes with built in sensor shift IS mechanism and when you add a OIS lens in the camera, the camera IS system sync with the Lens based IS system to give you ultimate result.

The Panasonic GX8 features and Sony A6300 both can record 4K videos at 30fps.

Sensor

The Sony newly developed CMOS APS-C AF sensor features 24 MP resolution on the other hand small but poploar 4/3 sensor features 20 MP resoltuion

High resolution shot – The Olympus PEN-F is capable create 50 Megapixels image files to give you intense details. The camera uses 5-axis sensor shift mechanism to create large image files however you need a tripod for that. Sony A6300 doesn’t have built-in IS or high resolution mode.

Technology behind both the sensor

Sony 24 MP Exmor R CMOS sensor is build on latest HYBRID AF technology, the Hybrid CMOS AF sensor features a epic number of 425 Phase AF points and approx 169 contrast based AF points to do AF.

The AF points cover the entire screen of the camera and hence you never get a out-of-focus shot from the camera, the AF speed of the camera is also blazing fast and it takes approx 0.05 sec of time to acquires the AF in average lighting condition.

Introduction of 4D focus in the AXXXX series camera, Sony A6300 is the first E-mount mirrorless camera camera to get 4D AF after the SLT A77II camera.

The top continuous shooting rate of the A6300 is aprrox of 11 fps @ 24 MP for up to 21 raw frames in a single burst with AF and AE, 8 fps shooting in live view, and permits 14-bit raw file output. Enough for a $1K camera.

The Low-light performance: The A6300 camera features 1-stop more ISO range compared to PEN-F camera (51200 vs 25600), not only more ISO the Sony A6300 also features more bigger sensor compared to the Olympus PEN-F camera that clearly means the Sony sensor have more bigger photodiodes to capture light despite of slight increase in the resolution.

At the end of the day Sony will sure perform better in-terms of low-light performance compared to Olympus PEN-F camera.

The Olympus PEN-F uses traditional contrast detect AF system for acquiring AF, so without doubt we are confirmed that Sony A6300 will do faster AF compared to the Olympus PEN – F Mirrorless camera

Built-in Image Stabilization – The Olympus PEN-F features built-in 5-axis image stabilization that prevents camera shake upto 5 stops even when any type of lens used with the camera. The image stabilization is very useful while shooting tele-shots and macro images with the camera.

No built-in image stabilization is available inside the camera, users have to by OSS lenses to compensate camera shake and its a price investment.

Introduction of 4K: The  Sony A6300 camera features 4K video recording on the other hand the Olmypus PEN-F limited to Full HD video recording .

The Sony A6300 offers 4K video recording at 30 frames per second, Support is available for the S-Gamut3.Cine/S-Log-3 and S-Gamut3/S-Log3 profiles that enable up to a 1300% wider dynamic range for smoother tonal and color gradations, along with enhanced sensitivity and clarity in shadows and mid-tones.

The Sony A6300 features larger APS-C sensor that will sure give you more dynamic range compared to Olympus PEN-F with 4/3 sensor and not only sensor size the Sony also offers advance AF system that combines Phase and Contrast based AF system, fast continuous shooting speed and a option to record 4K videos under same price tag.

We recommend you to get the Sony A6300 camera over Olympus PEN-F.
