Fuji X-H line created for dedicated cinema cameras. Fuji X-H1 cameras were one of the most popular APS-C cameras of Fuji.. And it was the first model to introduce IBIS in the Fuji Mirrorless system. As usual, we know Fuji never does incremental updates in their flagship APS-C cameras. That’s why due to lack of proper technology they have delayed the update of the Fuji X-H2 Mirrorless camera. Earlier, the Fuji X-H2 mirrorless camera was expected to arrive in 2021.
Before we discuss further, the possible set of specifications of the upcoming camera. Take a look at what did Fujifilm managers said during an interview about the Fuji X-H2 camera
Fujifilm X-H2 not so soon
- Fujifilm continues to “investigate future X-H cameras”
- X-T and X-H are two clearly different lines. What is the difference? “Difficult to say now; we need some sort of the breakthrough, probably.”
- it’s not enough for the X-H2 to be an X-T4 with a bigger grip, “we have to have something more revolutionary.”
- X-H2 is where new technology will enter the product line
It’s very clear from the interview they are talking about breakthrough technologies, They don’t want to put a regular update on the X-H line. Possibly once they have a supply of new High-Resolution APS-C Sensor from Sony, after that they will update the new X-H line..
Sony 43 and 32MP APS-C CMOS Sensor
We are one of the first websites in the world to publish a Sony list of Sensors that may get used in upcoming APS-C and FF cameras. Right now Sony has 32MP and 43 MP high-resolution APS-C CMOS sensors. it will be interesting to see which sensor does Fuji picks up for their X-H2 Camera. If they select the 32MP sensor then the X-H2 camera will remain limited to 6K and if they select the 43MP Sensor then we do have a high possibility of the presence of 8k video mode inside Fuji X-H2. Only time will tell.

Fuji recently registers a new camera FF 210001. As per rumors we have received in the past Fuji may push the X-H2 camera before X-T5. Although, we have to wait for further confirmations from trusted sources.

For those who think Fuji X-H2 is discontinued or dead – Fuji X-H series isn’t dead yet, Fujifilm UK Manager Andreas Georghiades denied the reports that Fuji X-H series is dead more details here

PS: If Fuji announces Fuji X-T40 with 26MP BSI CMOS sensor and IBIS it will eat up the Fuji X-S10 sales. But, it will surely get more market coverage/share and will grab the limelight before the Sony A6400 official upgrade arrives (with IBIS).
Fuji X-T5? We do know Fuji will be getting Sony 32MP OR 43MP sensors for their future cameras from Sony soon. Both of them are commercially un-available at the Sony sensor website. Take a look at the list of Sony sensors to be used in upcoming wolrdwide cameras

Fuji X-H series isn’t dead yet, Fujifilm UK Manager Andreas Georghiades denied the reports that Fuji X-H series is dead. Take a look what he said in a podcast published at Fujicast website
About Future of X-H Line
- Fujifilm X-H line is not dead
- There is a need in the market for a bigger camera and more durability
- there is not one camera for everything. There are different cameras for different needs, but with same image quality
- there is space for an X-H line
Use of Sony 32MP Sensor in Future Cameras (Fuji X-TH2 / Fuji X-T5)
While talking about the quality of lenses he told
- current lenses are good for about 32 megapixel
- if future Fuji sensors will have more megapixel, then there will be a need for new lenses

Some wired rumored specs surfaced over the web via rumor mills which suggest Fuji X-T4 camera may arrive with 6K video recording mode, IBIS and compact body design.
- X-T4 with IBIS
- expect a T4 about 1/3 of an inch thicker, and about 5-6oz heavier
- On a good note expect 6k60 and 10bit internal
- anamorphic ratio
- fully articulating flippy…essentially an S1H but APSc with Fuji color and obviously much smaller
- release end of 2020
If the rumors are true, then Fujifilm X-T4 will shoot 6K video at 60 frames per second with 10-bit internal recording and an anamorphic ratio. the camera is also said to feature IBIS, despite of including IBIS inside it the camera will be more compact compared to X-T4.
Fuji X-T4 with 6K Means Something else too.. No X-H2 in near future
This rumor also confirms that there will be no Fuji X-H2 in near future. Since, as we all know the Fuji X-H series is a dedicated cinema lineup of camera. So, if they add 6K in XT series then literally it’s no meaning to continue up with Fuji X-H series camera.
Not Reliable Rumors
All these rumors are coming from friend of someone and not through a reliable source, literally every website copy pasted same information without checking about the authenticity of source.
Actual Situation, Fuji X-H1 Discontinued [Only]
Till now what we know is Fuji discontinued the Fuji X-H1 camera and as we all know the X-H1 camera was not so popular model. , so if they are in mood to announce next update. They have to first Clear up the stockpiles of existing X-H1 series camera. And that’s why a month ago they have slashed up the price of Fuji XH1 to $999. The only intention was to clear the stocks in retail out-late and online store warehouses. Once the stock lines are cleared up they can announce the new models anytime when they wish to.
Ending up X-H Series – A possibility
There is slight possibility that they may end up the X-H series camera and put all the goodness they have in X-T series. That is, the next X-T series will be for sports shooter and cinematographers. If they announce a new Fuji X-T4 (Rumored to arrive on Q1 / Q2 of 2020) camera in near future with the above rumored specs prior to X-H2 camera announcement, they we can safely assume that they are not in the mood to continue up with Fuji X-H series camera anytime soon.
