DJI Pocket 4 NDA Leaked – Official Specs, Guidelines, and Size Comparison Revealed!

DJI Pocket 4 NDA Leaked image

The DJ, your pocket for rumours, is heating up again since just a few hours ago, a highly reliable and trusted @Quadro_News dropped a teaser on X (formerly Twitter), although the NDA is in Chinese language that we have translated below at the very same time, he has written on top of it. “Everything is quiet for now, but something is coming”. Although the NDA is in a different language than we have translated below, at the very same time, he has written on the top of it. Everything is quiet for now, but something is coming. From the leaked Chinese instructions, it is very clear. The document is for the upcoming pocket for the Gimble camera, and this is our first glimpse of confirmed product details, which are coming out straight from DJI’s internal materials that include the model number, weight, dimensions, and detailed safety guidelines associated with the pocket for the camera. If the leaked information is correct, and we do believe it is, since it is coming from a highly trusted source. Then for sure, the DJI pocket four is a bit closer to launch than what we have previously thought, potentially, it may align with the late 2025 or early 2026. Announce now, let’s dive into the details.

The Leaked NDA Document: What It Reveals

The document, with the caption “Flight Safety and Battery Safety Guidelines (DJI OSMO POCKET 4),” The Guideline outlines standard precautions for safe use, but buried within are key specs that confirm this as the next-gen model:

  • Model: OP4
  • Weight: Approximately 116g (without accessories) – lighter than the Pocket 3’s 179g, hence easy to carry compared to the Pocket 3
  • Dimensions: 145 × 38.3 × 30 mm – More compact than its predecessor

The guidelines emphasise battery safety, usage tips, and warnings, which we’ve translated from Chinese for clarity:

Key Safety Instructions

  • General Warnings: It’s not a toy; it’s not suitable for children under 16 without adult supervision. Keep away from flammable/explosive environments.
  • Battery Safety:
    1. Use only original batteries.
    2. Avoid disassembling the Device, puncturing, or modifying batteries.
    3. Keep away from heat, fire, and direct sunlight.
    4. Prevent short-circuiting.
    5. Charge away from flammable materials.
    6. Handle leaks carefully (rinse with water and seek medical help if contacted).
    7. Dispose of per local regulations.
  • Usage Tips: Check for damage before use; avoid harsh weather; hold steadily; don’t point at sun/strong lights; avoid magnetic interference; store in dry, ventilated areas.
  • Charging: Use original/compatible chargers; avoid high temps or flammables; stop if overheating.
  • Firmware: Regularly update for performance and safety.
  • Other Precautions: Contains small parts (choking hazard); stop use if discomfort occurs; no self-repair; comply with laws; manufacturer not liable for misuse

The leak doesn’t reveal any core specification of the DGI pocket for camera, like we which includes the Dual camera design, inclusion of a 50 megapixel sensor, 4K 240 FPS video recording, and ActiveTrack 7.0 that we’ve discussed in prior posts (e.g., our coverage of the prototype images).

We have discussed a lot about the upcoming DJI pocket for camera specification in our previous post, and not only that, we have also published a lot of leaked prototype images. Those include dual camera setups.

However, it’s also true that for the first time, we have seen such detailed battery and flight safety guidelines. For sure, this time, DJI is a bit more concerned about the security and safety of the consumers, specifically in the ongoing competition market with Insta360, GoPro, and the upcoming vivo and Oppo handheld Gimble Best cameras

Size Comparison: DJI Pocket 4 vs. Pocket 3

We are doing a side-by-side comparison. The pocket 4 specification that we have listed below in the table is coming straight out of the document shared above by the reliable source.

Model: “OP4”

  • Weight: Approximately 116 g (without accessories)
  • Dimensions: 145×38.3×30 mm

Here’s a side-by-side comparison based on the leaked Pocket 4 specs and official DJI data for the Pocket 3 (standard unit with integrated battery/handle).

Feature DJI Osmo Pocket 3 DJI Osmo Pocket 4 (Leaked) Key Differences
Weight 179 g ~116 g (without accessories) Pocket 4 is 35% lighter, making it more pocketable and easier to carry. for extended handheld use like vlogging or travel.
Dimensions 139.7 × 42.2 × 33.5 mm (H × W × D) 145 × 38.3 × 30 mm (H × W × D) Pocket 4 is taller (by ~5 mm) but narrower (by ~4 mm) and thinner (by ~3.5 mm). The confirmed set of specifications suggests a sleeker, more streamlined design— enhancing portability.

As you can see, the DJI pocket four design is more refined, compact, and lightweight compared to the pocket 3, which was slightly bulky. The big reason behind the bulky design was maybe due to the rotatable screen and a heavy gimble head unit due to the presence of a large 1-inch sensor inside their pocket 3 body.

How This Fits into the Bigger Picture

Building on our earlier leaks:

  • The dual-camera prototype (August 31, 2025 post): We have clearly shown you the type of design prototypes have; the Dual-Camera setup consists of asymmetrical lenses and sensor modules, a Combo of Lidar and Image Sensor.
  • Rumoured specs (August 31, 2025) included 8K capabilities and a ~190g weight – but this document’s 116g figure indicates a slimmer base model, possibly with Pro variants adding bulk.
  • With DJI being a bit busy in clearing Pocket 3 inventory and facing U.S. tariffs, this NDA-teased document is a clear signal announcement is expected soon. Recently, a Chinese source also suggested the same, that DJI is currently clearing up the stocks to make space for Pocket 4.  (we have already mentioned this in our previous post)

DJI Pocket 4 Price: DJI Pocket 4 is expected to arrive at $699–799 price point, it could dominate with improved low-light performance, longer battery life (~180 minutes), and seamless Mic integration. Stay tuned – we’ll update as more leaks drop!

Anticipation for the DJI Osmo Pocket 4 is reaching new heights, and the DJI Osmo Pocket 3 already set benchmarks with its 1-inch sensor and 4K/120fps capabilities. The upcoming mode specs seem to redefine the success of the Pocket 3 camera. For sure, Big Brands like DJI test several prototypes before they release the final version of the product.  Recently, we have seen multiple images of the Dual sensor-based Pocket 4 camera variants, now, we also have sensor information, and some Chinese sources are also sharing hints related to the Pocket 4 Arrival timeline. Let’s dive deep, and here’s a complete roundup of the latest developments surrounding the DJI Pocket 4.

Evolving Design: Dual-Camera Prototype Breaks Cover

We have a new Dual-Lens setup based camera module, and the good this is not from a single source; it has been shared from two different sources. That creates two different set of possibilities

  • DJI pocket 4 will be a bold departure from the single-lens design of its predecessors.
  • DJI Pocket 4 will be announced in different variants like DJI Pocket 4 and Pocket 4 Pro, and may be more than 2 of them to cover up consumer market as much as possible

post side image

We are just talking about the speculations right now, since we do know that 2026 will be a very competitive year for the Pocket 4 camera. Major smartphone manufacturers like OPPO, Vivo, and Xiaomi are rumoured to announce a Pocket 4 competitor, and we have covered the news here DJI Pocket 3 Style OPPO and Vivo Camera Coming in 2026  (Vivo is testing the Pocket-style camera prototypes already)

“Vivo is treating the effort as a priority with more than 200 staff and has already shown internal prototypes, sources said. As seen on – en.jiemian.com”

At the same time, GoPro is also working on a Pocket 3-style camera; we have spotted the patents and published them on our website too. At the end, Canon is also working on Pocket 4 Style camera patents, from 2024. So, this year, DJI may become a bit more serious about its pocket series camera and its upcoming potential competitors. Now, the cherry on top is Canon’s Pocket 3-style camera patents. Well, Canon already has V10, bit not able to show up in Camera rankings. Adding to the mix, Canon has been exploring Pocket 3 Style similar concepts that can appeal to a wider audience.

With this influx of potential challengers, DJI appears poised to take its Pocket series more seriously in 2025, as per the initial reports coming straight from Chinese sources. SDJI is currently running an aggressive discount on the Pocket 3 camera. It can be an effort to clear up the existing stock lines of the Pocket 3 and to make space for the Pocket 4 camera before the competition intensifies.

Report from Chinese Sources via webio

DJI’s Double 11 sale offers huge discounts! Pocket 3 is only 2799, starting at 0:00 on October 9th, directly facing potential competition next year from competitors like OPPO, vivo, and Xiaomi. They are clearing inventory to capture the market further, and there isn’t much time left for their competitors… Then they will release Pocket 4, and DJI will still have the advantage. Either those who should buy have already done so, or they will continue with the DJI ecosystem, waiting for the 4th-generation update. It can only be said that they are far ahead.

DJI Pocket 4 to use 50MP OmniVision Powerhouse?

Before we discuss the new 50 MP and 1/1.3-inch CMOS (OV50R40 ) sensor, specifically designed and developed for ‘action, vlog and pocket cameras’. We have to understand that 2026 will be an expanding market for pocket-style cameras where Makor players will make their official entry as we have discussed above, and for that, OV50R40 also boasts 110 dB Single Exposure HDR, in-sensor zoom cropping and can capture 8K video. Means a perfect candidate for a pocket-style camera with 8K recording capability and extended Dynamic Range.

The main housing around the cameras of the new prototype seems to be compact, potentially even slimmer than the Pocket 3’s module when compared.

DJI Pocket 4 Dual CAMERA Setup has a Small Housing Space, Not Suitable for a Large 1 Inch sensor, as we have seen on the Pocket 3 camera.

Latest Rumours from Notebookcheck.com indicate the 50MP sensor is a perfect candidate for the secondary camera, in the dual setup, so it can replace the primary 1-inch sensor module of the pocket 3 camera  (around 12MP) without affecting the performance. Enabling 4K/240fps slow-motion, expanded ISO range up to 16,000 for still images, and Hasselblad-tuned colour science for natural skin tones and cinematic grading. Featuring 10-bit colour and HDR, the DJI Pocket 4 (variants) is bound to deliver pro-level footage in a pocketable form

Such upgrades position the DJI Pocket 4 as a versatile tool for vloggers, filmmakers, and social media creators, with potential for 8K/30fps in boosted modes and uncropped slow-motion.

DJI Pocket 4 Dual Camera Rumoured Specification

  • Video and Imaging: 4K/240fps, 1080p/240fps slow-motion, D-Log M 10-bit color, and full-pixel fast focusing with Lidar Support.
  • Display and Controls: A 2.2-2.5-inch rotatable OLED touchscreen, possibly with a secondary rear display for selfies. (as seen over the leaked prototypes)
  • Tracking and Stabilisation: ActiveTrack 7.0 with AI improvements, plus 3-axis gimbal support
  • Audio and Connectivity: Omnidirectional stereo mics, DJI Mic 2/3 compatibility, Wi-Fi/Bluetooth, and up to 180 minutes of battery life.
  • Build and Variants: Around 190g weight, compact design, with rumours of a Pro model.

These are are latest updates we have related to the DJI Pocket 4 Camera.

Stay tuned, at thenewcamera.com, we will be bringing more updates soon

New DJI Osmo Pocket 4 Prototype Image Leaked with Dual-Camera Setup

DJI Osmo Pocket 4 Prototype Image Leaked with Dual-Camera Setup

A new prototype of the DJI Pocket 4 camera has surfaced on the web, and it looks significantly different from the existing Pocket series of camera lineup. The DJI Pocket 3 was announced back in October 2023 with a massive camera upgrade of a 1-inch sensor, enabling users to record videos in 4K up to 120 FPS with 10-bit D-Log. The Pocket 3 has already created a benchmark for creators worldwide. Now, the freshly leaked image of the DJI Osmo Pocket 4 prototype shows a dual-camera setup, which actually differs from the single-lens tradition that we have generally seen in the Osmo Pocket series. In this article, we will discuss the visual analysis of the camera units, and also, we will discuss why DJI may opt for this type of design, or this could be a signal of a compromise over the video quality for new features. So, let’s break it down and find out the facts.

A Close-Up on the Prototype Image: Key Visual Details

The prototype that we published a day ago shows clear branding of the Pocket 4 camera, but in that pic, the camera unit was not visible. In the prototype that has been shown in the image above, the branding of Pocket 4 is not visible, but yes, we do have clear visibility of the camera modules.

Both the camera image

Both of the camera modules look completely different in size. The left one is noticeably smaller and tinier, akin to auxiliary sensors we generally see in smartphones or DJI drone multi-camera module units, for specialised functions. This asymmetry suggests not a symmetrical stereo pair but a main-auxiliary duo.
The main housing around the cameras of the new prototype seems to be compact, potentially even slimmer than the Pocket 3’s module when compared. That means DJI has managed to have a dual setup without excessive bulk. At the very same time, the device shown in the image looks fully functional, no extra wires or tapes seen on the body, which clearly indicates it’s a fully developed product or final prototype.

Compromise on Video Quality

Since both the units are very compact, even when compared to the previous version of the prototype, it raises a question about the sensor size of the new camera module, and its low-light performance when compared to Pocket 3.
Primary camera paired with a dedicated depth sensor rather than dual main imagers. In drones, DJI has pioneered similar setups; they use one lens, the smaller one you see in the left of the image for real-time depth mapping—calculating distances via time-of-flight (ToF). In the Osmo Pocket 4 prototype, the same sensor / tiny module can be used for advanced subject tracking and creamy bokeh: The tiny left lens will provide depth data for generating bokeh/background blur, at the same time can also help in 3D augmented reality overlays or smart framing: automatic composition adjustments, or even virtual object placement in real-time, it will be an excellent new option for new age content creators.

Neither is made for VR or telephoto zoom lens, uneven + tiny lens sizes rule out optical zoom, specifically larger optics required for quality, and for true stereoscopic 3D for VR content, they need to put identical lenses for parallax matching.

pocket 3 vs 4 image

Prototypes in Testing, Compromise or Calculated Evolution?

DJI Pocket 3’s 1-inch sensor was an excellent upgrade over the Pocket 2 series. The arrival of the 1-inch sensor has upscaled the entire video workflow by adding 10-bit D-Log support and unparalleled low-light performance even when shooting 4K videos at 60 frames per second. Due to the larger sensor dynamics, the latitude of the video files gathering the highlights and shadows was greater, resulting in better output while color grading 10-bit D-Log video files of the Pocket 3.

But the big question is will DJI risk their video quality performance/compromise in image quality by downsizing or replacing the larger sensor?

An Evolution Toward Smarter, Not Lesser, Capture – The Second Perspective

One of my dearest editors is continuously suggesting, while writing this article, that it is possible that DJI is not fully abandoning high-quality imaging/sensor from their upcoming DJI Pocket 4 camera. From what we have seen in the image with their technology advancement, they can put a larger sensor, which is approximately near about 1-inch in size, to fit in a slimmer profile through advanced aspherical elements and optics, also by management of a more advanced heat sink unit. Also, being auxiliary, it wouldn’t need a large imager, allowing the overall module to remain compact.

Final Thoughts: Innovation in a Compact Package

Well, the design of the Pocket 4 prototype that we have seen today does carry an asymmetrical camera, and with this design, we have analysed that one of the units does carry a depth sensor and the other is the main camera unit. We are expecting a smart move towards depth-enabled intelligence without sacrificing the image or video quality that has been benchmarked by the Osmo Pocket 3’s large 1-inch sensor.

DJI does have multiple prototypes of Pocket 4 in the wild, without a doubt, testing rigorously the different variants, gathering pros’ feedback, to help them select the best one for the production line. Other factors, the DJI Pocket 3 has 50.3% of the total video camera market share in Japan this year (from February to June), which is a very large number in terms of sales figures. So, adding more options to it, further expanding the Osmo Pocket line, will attract more market share and profit for the company.

So, DJI will further expand its Osmo Pocket 4 series and will introduce multiple variations of the Pocket 4 camera in the near future, or they will take another way and will continue with a smaller camera unit without sacrificing the video quality with a depth sensor. Only time will tell, stay tuned for more information on the Pocket Osmo 4 camera over thenewcamera.com.

DJI Osmo Pocket 4 First Image Leaked: Rumored Price, Specifications, and Expected Arrival

Pocket 4 image leaked

Finally, the first image of the DJI Osmo Pocket 4 camera leaked, and we have it too. In this article, we are going to discuss about the rumoured price of the camera, specifications and expected arrival timeline. The handheld gimbal camera is very much popular among content creators, and specifically in the video camera category, it has been grabbing almost 50% of the entire market share, specifically in Japan.

The Pocket 3 was announced back in 2023, and at the time of announcement, it raised the bar with a 1-inch CMOS sensor, 4K 120 FPS video recording, support of D-Log M and 10-bit options for having higher latitude in shadows and highlight areas. Well, this was our Pocket 3 or smoke way ahead of its time.

The first leaked image of the DJI Osmo Pocket 4 camera

In the first image of the Osmo Pocket 4 camera, we have a very clear view of the branding Pocket 4, obviously, it is being held by someone with a kind of green background. The good thing is that the form factor of the camera looks very similar and compact compared to the previous generation Pocket 3.

The same image is being surfaced and circulating in Chinese social media forums. From the image, the device looks like an early prototype stage when the image was captured, so the unofficial teaser confirms its development, but will it arrive in 2025, or will the announcement be shifted to 2026? We are going to discuss over that after the specification part.

Rumored Specifications

Core specifications, which are already floating over the internet across many websites, say the upcoming DJI Pocket 4 camera will have the same 12-megapixel sensor and 4K video recording up to 240 frames per second. The specifications also say the upcoming Pocket 4 will have a slightly larger display screen of 2.5 inches and will weigh approximately 190 grams.

Will Pocket 4 also get an 8K sensor in the near future?

The upcoming DJI Osmo Pocket 4 camera will likely have an 8K-capable 1-inch sensor inside it. Why 8K sensor inside the Pocket 4? Is it possible? DJI is already using dual 1-inch sensors paired with dual lenses in the recently announced Osmo 360 camera ($549), which is able to record 8K 30 FPS of dual stream video simultaneously, as well as dual 4K 120 FPS video. The Osmo 360 is not only recording these dual streams 8K or 4K 120fps, it is also processing inside it, merging it to create a perfect 360 video for the users, while maintaining overheating very effectively.

DJI Osmo Pocket 360 camera has already demonstrated the ability to integrate higher resolution 1-inch sensors in small compact devices. And DJI is known for progressive upgrades, for example, the sensor size from 1/1.7 inch was shifted and increased to 1 inch in Pocket 3, so that was a big improvement in the sensor size of the camera, resulting in excellent low-light videos. Now the next logical step is towards higher resolutions like 6K or 8K for the Pocket 4, specifically targeting professional content creators, solo storytellers. Giving an excellent option/alternative compared to the new generation iPhone 17 cameras.

DJI Pocket 4 Creator Combo or DJI Mirrorless - What's Next from DJI?

According to the latest set of rumors, DJI may announce a new product very soon. It all started when someone asked the DJI Supprt team directly on Twitter if there is any possibility of a mirrorless camera system from DJI.

They have acquired Hasselblad and already have a range of medium format mirrorless cameras, there is still no mirrorless system camera under DJI branding yet. Although they are very advanced in making photographic equipment, as is very clear from their drone cameras, gimbals, Creator Kit, and their dedicated Ronin 4D cinema camera.

So after looking at all the possibilities, and with the Internet turning wild on the creative side, the first thing that I checked is that the DJI Pocket 2 Creator Kit is now officially discontinued at the B&H store, and we are the first website to report that.

So it’s a very clear indication that DJI is cleaning up the Pocket 2 combo pipelines or the stock lines, and it’s a very obvious thing when a camera maker or any major brand when they announces a new product. The first thing they do is clear up the stock lines of their previous generation models. Specifically, we are talking about the Pocket 2 Creator Combo. While the Pocket 3 Creator Combo is still available online, they need to make space in the production line as well as in the shelves of their own stores to make room for a new one.

It’s a very clear indication that we may have an announcement of the DJI Pocket 4 Creator Combo camera possibly this year,  2025.

Now again, about the mirrorless camera system, yes, we have had strong rumors in the past that DJI is super interested in announcing their own series of full-frame and APS-C mirrorless camera systems with L-Mount. Based on the set of rumors that we have published—you can check it here— We cannot rule out that possibility either; there is a strong likelihood of seeing a mirrorless lineup from DJI in 2025.
