I am very excited about this announcement since Canon R1 will be Canon’s first full-frame flagship Mirrorless camera, will specs affect another flagship mirrorless camera in the market badly or Canon will use cripple hammer even in the best camera?, will Sony gear up to announce Sony A1 Mark II just after the Canon R1 release, we have to wait and Watch.

Breaking News: Canon Register DS126928 Camera at Wireless Certification Agency – This infirmation was first published on thenewcamera.com

In a recent interview at Phototrend Canon said, they already have a global shutter sensor (Canon introduced its first global shutter sensor in August 2016) but according to Canon “since image quality is on the No.1 Priority list of Canon, Global shutter sensors as of now exhibit limited low-light performance. Until this basic is fixed they won’t use Global shutter sensor in commercial Camera bodies made for photographers
Phototrend has an interview with the Canon development team held at the CP+ venue.
- Sony announced a device with global shutter, but is Canon also working on this technology with the EOS R1?)
First of all, let’s not forget that we already have an industrial-grade global shutter sensor. Installing a global shutter on a mirrorless camera has advantages such as eliminating rolling shutter distortion and full-speed synchronization, but it also has the disadvantage of reducing image quality. I would like to consider this option in the future while looking at the balance between the advantages and disadvantages.
- (Are there some professionals who don’t care about image noise for the benefits of global shutter?)
I understand that there are people who are willing to compromise on that point, but if we use it in our main product… Our philosophy is that image quality cannot be compromised on. That said, it is necessary to consider the product category, and I would like to listen to feedback from users.

Canon has registered two new cameras with the wireless notification agency. The model code of one camera is DS126922. This model code starts with “DS” which Canon has used for ages. But, the big question is whether the second product model code starts with “ID” As you can see below, the entire model name is ID0179. So, at this moment we do not have much information related to the second product right now it’s a camera or something else.
Update: The ID0179 is said to be cinema camera from canon expected to arrive in first half of 2024.

Canon R1 Doesn’t Record Video in 8K – According to the latest rumors we have from the rumor mill the upcoming Canon R1 Camera doesn’t record videos in 8K mode, here is the set of specs we came to know about the Canon R1 camera from the latest rumors we have
Canon R1 Early Specs
– no global shutter
– no 8k
– less than 45 MP
I am happy to hear that the Canon R1 and Canon R5 Mark II do not come with global shutter sensors after looking at the low-light performance of the Sony A9 III camera (although this news isn’t new to us). But, the big question is why drop MP below 45? If you compare with Sony A1 and Nikon Z9 both have 50-45 MP sensors, the market competition is going around 40+ So Canon should also announce something in a similar resolution otherwise it will look like an update to a Canon R3, not a flagship camera.
