Fuji X-H2 vs Sony A7C Dynamic Range Test Score

Fuji X-H2 is Fujis one of the most advanced APS-C cameras with the 5th generation of X-Trans 40MP Sensors. The camera core specs says the camera is able to capture 40MP files @ 20 fps E-Shutter, 15 fps Mech. Shutter and you are also able to record 8k videos with the camera.

Undoubtedly the camera features better core specifications than the Sony A7C camera. But, the only Major difference we have is the sensor size. The C uses a Sony 24 MP BSI CMOS sensor and the Fuji X-H2 uses APS-C Size 40 MP sensor.

Sony offers a Complete 1 Stop of difference after ISO 600

As you can see the Sony A7C camera gets a PDR (photography Dynamic Range) boost @ ISO 600. It clearly indicates the camera sensor also has built-in Low-gain and High-gain transistor/amplifier circuits (Dual base ISO) for a performance boost.

The Dynamic range of the Sony A7C Fullframe sensor is better than that of the Fuji X-H2.

When to buy Fuji X-H2?

If you actually want to have a Fuji camera, if you really require the 20FPS burst mode along with the 8K video recording capability then only buy the Fuji camera. Undoubtedly Fuji X-H2 is one of the most affordable 8K cameras we have but take ur decisions wisely if you use 8K then only go on Fuji lane otherwise for general-purpose photography and video Sony is a great option with an ocean of lenses.

Fuji X-H2 Is an excellent Camera but…

Fuji X-H2 is an excellent camera, but it does need professional light support to perform well when compared to competitors in the camera price range.

Canon G9X Mark II and Panasonic LX100 Mark II Discontinued

Not good news for compact lovers, during the DSLR to Mirrorless transition process Canon is keeping significantly less attention to the development and announcement of G series compact cameras. Although models like the Canon G7X (Mark II) were very popular among users, none of the G series models are getting proper updates and now Canon started to discontinue G series compacts. It is a clear indication that Canon focuses now on the development and sales of Mirrorless cameras only.

Same in the case of Pansonic, they are also in a transition phase and putting all their attention on the newly announced S series of system cameras and lenses. Not only compact camera’s entire M4/3 line-up is suffering from ignorance, the entire entry-level lineup of M4/3 format cameras now smashed and nothing left apart from an active Panny G100 series model.

Sony ZV-1F vs Sony ZV1 - Best Sony Compact Vlogging Camera of 2025

Sony ZV-1F vs Sony ZV1 – The Sony ZV1F camera is $250 cheaper than the Sony ZV1. The biggest noticeable difference is the lens of the and the HYBRID AF SENSOR inside the ZV1 camera. With the Sony ZV1F, we are getting a 20mm prime lens and with the Sony ZV1, we are getting a 24-70 eg zoom lens. So, of course, you will lose some flexibility u have in the Sony ZV1 camera, but at the same time, you will gain a little bit more wide-angle coverage which is highly important when you are creating content with the camera, for which it is made. For the first time in a Sony vlogging camera, we are about to witness a cold shoe, it can only act as an external mic holder but it doesn’t have any active contacts inside it.

1. Sensor Details

Sony ZV-1F Sony ZV1
Sensor Resolution Effective: 20.1 Megapixel (5472 x 3648) Effective: 20.1 Megapixel (5472 x 3648)
Aspect Ratio 1:1, 3:2, 4:3, 16:9 1:1, 3:2, 4:3, 16:9
Sensor Type 13.2 x 8.6 mm (1″-Type) CMOS 1″-Type CMOS
Image File Format JPEG JPEG, Raw
Image Stabilization Digital Digital, Optical

we have two different variations of Sony’s 1-inch sensor being used in Sony ZV-series compact cameras, the first one of the CDAF sensor being used in the ZV-1F camera, and the other variation of Sony compact the ZV-1, which uses HYBRID CMOS AF sensor, comes at a higher price.

Recommendation

So, the autofocusing performance of the camera upscales the video recording performance to the next level, so if ur able to upscale your budget and get the Sony ZV1 camera you must get that.

Yes, we do have all the fancy Auto Focus modes we have witnessed in the ZV1.  But as usual, the hardware is missing (no active Hybrid AF points). Despite all the -ve things, we do have some good news in the AF department. At least the Eye AF mode of the camera works well and tracks AF all the time.

2. Optical Zoom / Prime Lens

Sony ZV-1F Sony ZV1
Focal Length 7.6mm (35mm Equivalent Focal Length: 20mm) 9.4 to 25.7mm (35mm Equivalent Focal Length: 24 to 70mm)

Maximum Aperture f/2 f/1.8 to 2.8
Minimum Aperture f/8 f/11
Focus Range 2″ to Infinity / 5 cm to Infinity f/11
Optical Design 6 Elements in 6 Groups 10 Elements in 9 Groups

3. Missing Mechanical Image Stabilization

Sony ZV1-F camera doesn’t have any kind of Mechanical IS, which includes Sensor shift IS and OSS [Lens based]. Not only that Gyro IS is also missing, but the good news is we are getting at least EIS [electronic Image stabilization] from the camera. And when you implement it you have to face a 1.25X crop which turns your 20mm lens into a 25mm lens. That’s the only major positive thing I like inside ZV1-F is even after implementing EIS feature the widest coverage is similar to the ZV1 24mm focal length.

4. Exposure Control

5. Video Resolution and Time Limit

As you can see the Sony ZV1-F camera is limited to 29 Min recording timeline and the frame rates are also limited, it a clear indication that Sony not only wants to increase its consumer base they also want to save the ZV1 sales, by cutting down some basic features from the camera.

6. Sony ZV-1F vs Sony ZV1 Verdict

Sony ZV1 is better, undoubtedly. We have no competition here. the overall core specification of the ZV1 camera is more imoressive without a doubt.
