It’s time to see the Canon R7 images at 100% scale, as you can see the image below is captured by a Canon R7 camera paired up with an 18-150mm kit lens. The sharpness level of the lens is just amazing even when captured at 100% scale.
Canon just announced the Canon R10 and Canon R7 cameras. If you look at the chronological names then in the base area we have only two positions left after the Canon R6, and the first one is the Canon R8, and 2nd one Canon R9 camera?

2. Canon EOS R1 Arrival Date
We are keeping away the Canon R1 camera from our expectation list since we have a lot of info related to the upcoming flagship camera and we are almost sure, that the development announcement is about to happen in Q4 2022 and a full-fledged announcement will happen in the beginning months of 2023.
Canon EOS R1 Specification: Initial rumor suggests that canon does have working prototypes of the Canon R1 camera with a 45-megapixel stacked CMOS sensor. The camera can capture 45 megapixels of images at 30 frames per second with unlimited buffer memory and is also capable of recording 8k videos up to 60 fps. But yes keep in mind camera makers always test several prototypes of a flagship camera before putting it over on the production line. We are keeping an eye on rumors and as soon as we get more information related to them we will be posting on this website.
3. Canon R9
Now let’s talk about the Canon EOS RP replacement. This is not exactly an expectation. it’s a kind of a tip we have, Canon EOS RP camera replacement name is Canon R9. We are not expecting a big jump in the core specs of the camera. All it will have a mediocre update with Digic x image processor, and proper 4K video recording mode up to 30fps.
4. Canon R8
The possible name of the upcoming Canon EOS R camera successor would be Canon R8. And again if you talk about the specification then yes we are again expecting a mediocre update with an improved image processor and possibly the same sensor with updated microlenses
5. Canon R100
According to the latest rumor surfaced over the web Canon is expected to announce the Canon R100 camera in Q3-Q4 of 2023. The Canon R100 camera will replace the Rebel series of DSLRs. And will provide a more affordable option than the Canon EOS R10.
After so many rumors finally, we have our Canon R7. A perfect replacement Canon 7D series camera is now announced by Canon. The camera features a 32.5 Mp APS-C CMOS sensor from Canon and 4K video recording up to 60fps and Full HD up to 120fps. The Canon EOS R7 is Canon’s first flagship APS-C Mirrorless camera to feature a built-in 5-axis sensor-shift image stabilization system (CIPA-rated for up to seven stops of compensation). The camera uses a Canon LP-E6NH battery and a Dual SD card for pro work.
Canon R7 Price
The EOS R7 will be available for a list price of $1499 body-only, or $1899 with the new 18–150mm F3.5–6.3 IS STM zoom lens.

Alongside the camera bodies, Canon will release new RF-S lenses – a series of RF-mount lenses that are optimized for the smaller APS-C sensor size of the new EOS R camera system. Marked as the RF-S18-45mm F4.5-6.3 IS STM and RF-S18-150mm F3.5-6.3 IS STM lenses, these will be the standard zoom lenses for the EOS R7 and EOS R10 cameras. The RF-S 18-45mm provides an 18-45mm focal length, but users will experience a field of view equivalent to 29-72mm lens coverage on a full-frame camera. The RF-S18-150mm lens is a longer-range standard zoom, equivalent to 29-240mm lens coverage on a full frame. While ideal for the new EOS R10 and EOS R7 APS-C sized sensor bodies, these lenses can be used for any R-series camera.

Same sensor: From the first impression video, it’s very clear that Canon is using the same 32.5MP sensor as Canon 90D. Is the same old sensor on steroids? Yes, it is with Digic X Image processor used at its full potential in this camera.
Excellent Build Quality: The Build quality is always great in Canon cameras, everything is so nice and perfect specifically the large handgrip.
Limited buffer Memory: Very limited buffer memory probably o save the sales of higher-end models like Canon R6 or R5, you will get 1 sec of burst
Excellent Video: Finally Canon cameras with oversampled video, without recording time limit and C-Log
Canon R7 First impression review video is out, kindly look at the key points discussed in the video. The price is 1500 euros (probably $ 1700-1800)
Canon R7 Review
AF is dual pixel CMOS AF II, 32.5 million pixels (Same conventional CMOS sensor neither BSI nor Stacked)
Electronic 30 frames / second (12bit RAW), mechanical 15 frames / second (14bit RAW)
The monitor has 1.6 million dots. Equipped with IBIS
AF is compatible with -5EV, maximum shutter speed is 1/8000 seconds
Dual SD card slot, both compatible with UHSII
Battery is the same as R5 / R6
Video is 4K60p, 4K30p is oversampling from 7K, full HD120p, C-log3 compatible, no time limit of 30 minutes.
It weighs only 560g and is extremely lightweight and compact. Equipped with a vari-angle monitor.
The price is 1500 euros (probably $ 1700-1800)
A control dial is placed around the smart multi-controller.
I like the fact that the ON / OFF switch on the right shoulder includes a video mode.
The EVF is clear and bright, with an OVF simulated mode.
It is said that there is some correspondence, but I do not know exactly.
If you shoot continuously at 30 frames per second with an electronic shutter, the buffer will fill up quickly, and you can only shoot 30-40 shots in RAW. With CRAW, I was able to shoot 50 shots by the time the buffer was full, and with JPEG, I was able to shoot 70 shots.
AF works very well and has the same area modes as the R5 and R6. It has a tracking function for animal eyes and objects (vehicles, etc.), and its operation is very similar to that of R5 and R6.

Drones are just an extension tool for photography/videography, we can’t keep aside them when we are talking about photography or video. Generally, I keep eye on Drones camera tech development news and I always prefer not to post here all the time since this vlog is dedicated to compact & interchange Cameras and Lenses only.
But, what the heck.. a drone is capable to record a 10bit video and it’s being reviewed by my all-time fav Philp Bloom. So, let’s discuss the news we have.
DJI MINI 3 PRO 10 BIT Video
DJI added 10bit recording capability in DJI Mini 3 PRO by a simple firmware update, well I am covering camera news for the past 15 years but at the same time, I have never heard anything like adding a 10bit video recording option in any camera with a firmware update.
10 BIT vs 8 BIT VIDEO
For reference, 8-bit video recording distinguishes between 1.67 million different colors, whereas 10-bit video recording allows you to work with up to 1.07 billion color variations.
Notes:
The DJI RC-N1 remote controller can also be used with DJI Mini 2, Mavic Air 2, DJI Air 2S and DJI Mavic 3 (requires DJI Fly v.1.6.1 or later).
What others said when they checked 10bit option after the update
I thought of some mistake by DJI in choosing Codec levels (“Main10” instead of simply “Main”) and therefore 8 Bit footage in a 10 Bit container, but I checked the footage and from what I’ve seen the footage seems to be in fact 10 Bit in D-Cinelike.
