The camera features 10 Megapixel sensor with ISO sensitivity starting from 80 to 204800, and the standard ISO range of the camera is 100 to 51200.
Being said that it clearly indicates that the Panasonic GH5S will going to create more cleaner images during low light conditions compared to the Panasonic GH 5 camera. Not any cleaner images Panasonic GH 5S is also optimised for low light video performance and Dual Native ISO also introduced to cut down the extra noise.
Dual Native ISO
and Panasonic introduced dual native ISO inside the Panasonic GH 5S camera which was first introduced with Panasonic S35
The dual native ISO range is used to cut down the extra amount of noise generated while recording video or still at low light conditions.
Multi-aspect sensor
Panasonic introduce multi aspect sensor so you can now shoot 16:9, 17:9, 4:3 and 2:3.wide formats.
AutoFocus System
The autofocusing system of both the camera remains same. both camera features a 225 points based DFD autofocusing system. but the Panasonic GH5S comes with slight improvement in low light detection range. Panasonic GH5S Camera AF detection improved one stop more (+5EV vs -4EV) compared to the Panasonic GH 5 camera.
14 Bit continuous shooting
The camera offers 14bit of RAW shooting but at 11 frames per second without AF support and when you use AFC mode continuous AF the speed slows down to 7fps.
Cinematic 4K
cinematic / DCI 4K also being introduced inside the Panasonic GH5S camera. Panasonic GH5 do offer standard / UHD 4K video recording but one step ahead Panasonic GH5S has become the first consumer level camera to introduced 4K cinematic video which carry a bit more resolution compared to the standard 4K video of the GH5 camera.
240 Frames @ Full HD

Panasonic 4KHDR and HLG (Hybrid Log Gamma)
You get 4K HDR with HLG in Panasonic GH5S with Firmware version 2.0. Panasonic GH5S
Comes with preinstalled.
No Built in Image stabilization
Panasonic GH5S doesn’t carry in built-in Image stabilization. So, you have to depend upon the OSS lenses only. BTW, the Panasonic GH5 carry Dual IS when sensor based IS sync with Lens based IS.So you get 5+Stops of IS with the Panasonic GH5 camera.
Final Word
The Panasonic GH5S camera is made for shooting in low-light environment. So, absence of IS will become a big issue for few filmkaers and lifestyle vloggers. But, overall the camera is more video centric compared to Panasonic GH5S.
