— End of Rumor —

Nikon D7200 was announced on March 2nd 2015, The Nikon D7200 camera features 24 megapixel CMOS sensor and 51 point AF system powered by a Expeed 4 image processor.

If we look at the past foot prints of Nikon D7XXX series then you can find out that Nikon roughly takes 2 year of time to update its D7XXX series camera. The Nikon D7200 has now completes approx two year of time frame and hence a update is imminent.

Nikon D7300 Specification Talk

According to latest rumors the upcoming Nikon d7300 camera will going to feature same sensor as of Nikon d500 camera. And not only sensor the camera will also going to have 4K video mode. Nikon D7300 is also rumored to carry the same 51 point AF system.  Unfortunately the AF system of the camera remains same as of its predecessor.

Nikon D7300 camera will going feature Expeed  5 image processor same as of Nikon d500 camera. The Nikon D7200 camera was using expeed 4 image processor and hence it’s a welcome upgrade. Adding a new image processor with new image decoding algo as well as New sensor will going to uplift the image quality of the to be announced Nikon D7300 camera equivalent to Nikon D500 camera. We can also say Nikon is planning to introduce for affordable version of Nikon d500 camera.

Next Big DX camera from Nikon ?

This year we haven’t seen any major announcement from Nikon till now,  Or we can also say Nikon doesn’t announced any major product after Nikon D5 and  Nikon D500 camera. The Nikon D5600 camera was just an  humble replacement to its current series. Adding snapbridge function to the camera doesn’t mean model update and I don’t consider it as a perfect replacement of current Nikon D5500 camera.

Nikon D7300 on Q4 of 2017

Till now we don’t have any confirmation related to the announcement date, but we do believe a big announcement related to DX format camera this year. We can’t say a specific date for now since the 2 years of update cycle time of D7xxx series is almost crossed.

We invite you to join Nikon Rumor group at Facebook where you can discuss a look at the upcoming camera detailed information And latest news.

Nikon Working on High-end Mirrorless and Medium Format Cameras

Nikon Mirrorless

During an interview to Yahoo Japan Nikon executives said that they will bring multiple mirrorless camera at an early stage. The things to be noted that after extraordinary loss news, this is the first good news we are getting itself from Nikon, more details below…

1. “Bringing in multiple mirroless camera at an early stage”

The line was quoted during the interview, after suffering from heavy loss Nikon is finally realizing it’s mistakes. Nikon is still not making any serious mirrorless solutions for professionals, seasonal  or entry level Photographers. However we are the only website who told you Nikon is planning to expand it’s Nikon 1 series Mirrorless camera and soon we will see FF and APS-C Mirrorless from Nikon.

2. Medium and High-End DSLRs

Nikon executives also told during the interview that future Nikon will concentrate on their resources on medium and high-end in DSLR cameras and lenses and mirrorless camera.

Nikon Announce a camera, High-End DPAF Sensor based mirrorless camera in near future. As you can look at the patent we have published here and it clrealy indicates that Nikon is also working on same Dual-pixels CMOS AF tech as of Canon.

What will happen to the current schedule announcement of cameras?

The other things to be noted is Nikon camera business has been re-constructing from inside to out, that clearly indicates that the future of announcement and development is going to be rescheduled. That may create some level of disappointment among Nikon users due to the delay in the regular update cycle of DSLRs.

As we all know that Nikon  D750,  Nikon D610 and Nikon D810 camera overdue for an update. So, be it will be interesting to see how you can handle the entire situation.

Nikon D850 and Nikon D900 Exif Leaked?

Nikon D850 and Nikon D820

Nikon D850 and Nikon D900 Exif details are surfaced over the web. Keep in mind that the EXIF details can be easily edited with the help of software’s like jHead and ExifTool.

Nikon D850 vs D820

We have two screen shots, the first screen shot information display D850 as camera name and image resolution is 7952 X 5304 = 42177408 pixels (42.2 MP).

And the Second screen grab display out Nikon D900 as camera name and the highest resolution available is 7267X4850 = 35244950 (35.2 MP).

The screen shot with D850 name and a 42.2 MP sensor look bit feasible to me, it might be possible that Nikon had done any secret deal to get the highly acclaimed A7R II sensor. Since, According to our information the 42MP sensor isn’t available for sale to different companies at this moment.
We have received information in the past that Nikon is ready to announce FF DSLR before the APril month, the code name of the DSLR is N1610.

In accordance with this restructuring, the Group recorded extraordinary loss of 29,790 million yen, mainly incurred from inventory write-downs/write-off in Semiconductor Lithography Business, as restructuring expenses for the nine months ended December 31, 2016.

Revision of the Financial Forecast for the Fiscal Year Ending March 31, 2017

Regarding the consolidated financial forecast for the year ending March 31, 2017, despite the continuous boom in sales of FPD Lithography Systems in the Precision Equipment Business, consolidated operating income as a whole is expected to fall below the previous forecast, impacted by the sluggish and shrinking markets of digital cameras in the Imaging Products Business and industrial metrology equipments in the Instruments Business.

As announced in “Notice of Restructuring” released on November 8, 2016, Nikon Group is currently under a fundamental company-wide restructuring in order to enhance our ability to generate profits and create value. And an extraordinary loss of approximately 53 billion yen in total, including the expenses related to “Result of Solicitation for Voluntary Retirement” and “Notice of Recognition of Extraordinary Loss” released today, is expected to incur as restructuring expenses, which is 5 billion yen increase from the previous estimate of 48 billion yen in “Notice of Restructuring” released on November 8, 2016.

BAD News - Nikon cancelled the release of the DL series camera.

Nikon DL camera image

Nikon was delaying those compact camera shipping from past 1 year. Every time they were continuously delaying the camera announcement without any official confirmation. Finally, the BIG BAD news arrived today that Nikon cancelled the release of the DL series camera.

What a sad journey with a bitter end, I do remember the moment when first Nikon DL camera image was leaked.

Initially Nikon said the camera is delayed due to  serious issues with the integrated circuit for image processing built into the three new premium compact cameras.

After that we have received multiple reports [see here and here]  that Nikon DL is coming, but none of them were true.

Finally Nikon said that they cancelled the DL product announcement. They feel the product has become outdated and due to “profitability concerns” they postponed DL series.

Press Release – Nikon cancelled the release of the DL series camera

Cancellation of release of the DL series of premium compact cameras

February 13, 2017 TOKYO – Nikon Corporation announced today that sales of the long-awaited DL series of premium compact camera, the DL18-50 f/1.8-2.8, DL24-85 f/1.8-2.8, and DL24-500 f/2.8-5.6, will be canceled.

A June, 2016 release was originally planned for the DL series. However, with the identification of issues with the integrated circuit for image processing, release of the three cameras was delayed indeterminately.

Since then, everyone involved has worked very hard to develop products with which our customers will be satisfied. However, it has been decided that sales of the DL series will be canceled due to concerns regarding their profitability considering the increase in development costs, and the drop in the number of expected sales due to the slow-down of the market.

We sincerely apologize to all those affected by this decision, especially those customers who waited so long for the cameras to be released, retailers and others whose business will be affected, for the inconvenience this decision may cause.
