Okay, let’s do a specification comparison between the Fuji X-S20 camera and the Sony A6700 camera. We know that the Sony A6700 camera is rumored to be coming on July 12th along with a new 15-45mm f/3.5-5.6 lens. Once the camera arrives, we will update the specifications with as many details as possible, but for now let’s do it with the set of information available to us.
Feature
Sony A6700
Fuji X-S20
Sensor
26.1MP APS-C BSI CMOS
26.1MP X-Trans IV (APS-C)
Processor

5-axis in-body; 7-stops
Viewfinder
Quad-VGA OLED Tru-Finder EVF with 3.69 million dots
So with the set of the available basic information we have related to the Sony A6700 camera, we are going to compare it to the Fuji X-S20 camera in a specification comparison table
You can clearly see that the Fuji X-S20 camera’s video recording capabilities include 6K recording up to 30 frames per second and 5.2K video recording in 16:9 format which surpasses the video specs of the A6700 camera.
The biggest advantage we will have in the upcoming Sony A6700 camera is the dedicated AI chip that we have seen inside the Sony ZV-E1 full-frame mirrorless camera that was announced a while ago. With the help of new AI chips, we will see a very enhanced autofocus mechanism inside this camera. Other than that, we have a higher resolution 3.69 million dots electronic viewfinder from Sony.
Although we are not able to grab all the details of the burst speed of the camera, we are expecting that it will remain limited to 10 frames per second since higher-end Sony models like the Sony A7 IV and Sony A7R V are also limited to this speed.
All these are the initial set of specs available to us that we have compared in the table above. We do expect and hope that the camera will arrive with an enhanced set of cool specifications and an affordable price tag to truly compete against the X-S20 camera. If it fails to have an affordable price tag or the video specs that we have seen in the X-S20 camera right now, then for sure Sony will lose a big marketplace.
According to the latest rumors, the Sony A6700 camera is coming with a brand new kit lens that has the same focal length of 15-45mm and a similar aperture of 3.5-5.6. However, it is not clear in what sense the lens is new and this will be revealed on the announcement day when actual reviews come out.
Sony A6700 Expected Core Specification
26.1MP APS-C BSI CMOS Sensor
BIONZ XR & AI Processing Unit
AI-Based Real-Time Tracking AF System
UHD 4K up to 60p (uncropped)
S-Cinetone
S-Log3, 4:2:2 10 Bit internal
5-Axis Image Stabilization
updated Quad-VGA OLED Tru-Finder EVF 3.69m-dot resolution for bright, clear viewing in high detail
After the announcement of the Sony FX30 camera, a Sony representative stated/given hints that the 26-megapixel sensor will be used in upcoming Sony cameras in the near future. However, it seems that the enhanced video call specs of the FX30 will not be coming to the A6700 camera in order to protect the sales of the FX30.
Blackmagic Design is rumored to be joining the L-Mount Alliance soon. In addition to this, they may also announce a full-frame cinema camera compatible with the L-Mount.
Currently, Blackmagic Design offers pocket cinema cameras with three different mount systems: PL, EF, and Micro Four Thirds. If the rumor is true, joining the L-Mount Alliance would be a great decision for Blackmagic Design. We are excited to see if they will release a full-frame camera and hope that this rumor comes true.
Sources suggest that the camera may be released at the end of 2023.
According to the latest rumors from the rumor mill, Sigma will announce two new RF-mount lenses. Source of the rumor mill says Sigma’s RF-mount lenses may become available in the next 6 to 8 months. The source also claims there will be a mid-range large-aperture prime lens and a zoom lens. And So, the rumor mill speculates we may see a 50mm f/1.4 and a zoom lens and a 17-50mm F2.8 OS D (RF Version).
So this is not the first time. A few months ago, the rumor mill published that Meike was the first to make Canon RF mount autofocus lenses. This news first broke out in April 2023. But since April, we are still waiting and Meike has made no lens announcement. And even if Sigma announces RF-S Lens, then undoubtedly they will have, 18-50mm F2.8 and not 17-50 for sure.
