So, finally, Canon has discontinued its G1X Mark 3 camera. What can we expect next from Canon? Will they release a new G1X Mark 4 camera or, by looking at the current trend, will they release a new V series camera for their consumer base? Let’s hope for the best
Image of Canon G1 X Mark II [Older Version with 1.5 inch CMOS Sensor]
The G1X Mark III camera was announced back in 2017. It used a 24 DPAF sensor of Canon 200D Mark II and Canon M50 II and Digic 8 image processor. Compared to the Mark 2 camera, which used a 1.5-inch sensor, the Mark 3 used an APS-C sensor. Despite this fact, the size of the Mark 3 was smaller than the Mark 2.
Canon’s Next Move: G1X Mark 4 or V Series?
Now again, we have high hopes after the discontinuation of the G1 X Mark 3 camera. The production lines are clear and the stockpiles are almost clear, so we expect a camera’s arrival under the V series. So, the big question next camera from Canon coming under the V range is APS-C Compact or a Mirrorless camera. Let’s hope for the best and see what arrives next.
Now you can use your Sony lenses directly on Nikon Z Mount-based mirrorless cameras with the help of the new Fotodiox autofocus adapter. The lens adapter works almost perfectly for taking still pictures and you can control the aperture of the lens electronically too. The autofocus is perfectly reliable for still shooting.
However, if you’re into video, then it is probably not recommended to get into this mess. After looking at the results of its tests, I have concluded that it doesn’t work perfectly for videos. Specifically, if you have third-party lenses, then you will feel synchronization issues there several times while doing autofocus for video.
Sony Alpha E-Mount Lenses to Nikon Z-Mount Mirrorless Cameras; infinity focus or beyond guaranteed
Built-in FUSION technology enables electronic communication and control between lens and camera
Restores automated functions on most lenses such as auto-focus, aperture control, image stabilization and more with compatible lenses
Precise fit and solid all-metal construction with chrome plated brass mounts for secure and solid fit; lens has no play, gap or wiggling when mounted on adapter and no adjustments required
Limited 2-Year Manufacturer Warranty
So the adapter is good for still shooters but not for video.

Yesterday, Nikon announced two different lenses. One is the Nikkor Z 70-200mm f/2.8 and the other is the Nikkor Z 180-600mm f/5.6-6.3 VR. The main attraction right now is Nikon’s open Lens Mount policy and they are now releasing a series of lenses at the available price range. Now, why I am talking about an open lens mount? Since one of the lenses among the two is made by Nikon itself and the other (70-180 F2.8) is re-branded as NIKKOR Lens but it’s actually made by Tamron.
Nikon’s Latest Lenses announcement.
The latest edition is the Tamron branded 70-180mm lens. The most attractive thing about this lens is its price: a 70-200mm f/2.8, which is near impossible for any camera brand to offer. Another thing that surprised me, even more than its price, is the use of a stepper motor. Generally, Tamron uses a linear actuator motor in their 70-180mm lens. Stepper motors are generally considered to be more accurate than actuator motors, but you have to compensate with speed.
The Other lens in the set is the Nikon NIKKOR Z 180-600mm f/5.6-6.3 VR Lens (Nikon Z), its covers a vast range of 600mm but has variable aperture. Being a Nikkor homemade Lens, I have high hopes for the lens and its sharpness and overall performance.
So let’s have a look at the teardown of the ultra-popular Fuji X-H2 camera done by IRrecams.de. And as a disclaimer, do not try this yourself if you have some issues with the Fuji X-H2 or any other camera you have in your hand. Don’t attempt these things by just looking at images or videos. It’s better to visit your nearest service center to have it done professionally.

Blackmagic Design is rumored to be joining the L-Mount Alliance soon. In addition to this, they may also announce a full-frame cinema camera compatible with the L-Mount.
Currently, Blackmagic Design offers pocket cinema cameras with three different mount systems: PL, EF, and Micro Four Thirds. If the rumor is true, joining the L-Mount Alliance would be a great decision for Blackmagic Design. We are excited to see if they will release a full-frame camera and hope that this rumor comes true.
Sources suggest that the camera may be released at the end of 2023.
According to the latest rumors from the rumor mill, Sigma will announce two new RF-mount lenses. Source of the rumor mill says Sigma’s RF-mount lenses may become available in the next 6 to 8 months. The source also claims there will be a mid-range large-aperture prime lens and a zoom lens. And So, the rumor mill speculates we may see a 50mm f/1.4 and a zoom lens and a 17-50mm F2.8 OS D (RF Version).
So this is not the first time. A few months ago, the rumor mill published that Meike was the first to make Canon RF mount autofocus lenses. This news first broke out in April 2023. But since April, we are still waiting and Meike has made no lens announcement. And even if Sigma announces RF-S Lens, then undoubtedly they will have, 18-50mm F2.8 and not 17-50 for sure.
