Leica is holding a special event on April 24, 2014 in Berlin at 7pm, according to LaVidaLeica.com website Leica will announce a new mirrorless camera on April 24 with power zoom lenses and prime lenses, the Mirrorless camera body and power zoom lenses is developed by Panasonic but branded as Leica and Prime lenses for Mirrorless system is made by leica itself. The most interesting part of the rumor is the upcoming camera is not based on M4/3 format, it may be a APS-C sensor based Mirrorless system.

From past 3 to 4 month we are getting regular update form rumor mills that Leica will announce a mirrorless sysytem / Leica T 701 camera in Febraury 2014, now two new images surfaced over stevehuff website, the both images is of probably the upcoming new mirrorless system or Leica T Type 701 camera.
+1 take a look at the recent interview with the Australian magazine Camera Leica’s CEO Alfred Schopf, he confirmed again that they will come up with a new compact system camera: “We will have one, definitely. And it will, of course, be quite different to M system. We want to have autofocus with such a system and we may well have an APSC size sensor rather than a bigger one. Yes its really amazing to see a Fuji X10 camera type camera from Leica, the Leica X10 features same core specification and design as Fuji X10 camera. Leica may announce its mirrorless system in February 2013, according to rumors Panasonic will (again?) give its support in the development of Leica Mirrorless System, So in february 2013 we may see Panasonic M4/3 camera with red logo and extra price.. As we already know that Panasonic LX5 = Leica D-Lux 5 and Panasonic FZ200 = Leica V-Lux 4 and so on…, the only advantage in Leica version you get RED LOGO and extra software, but you have to pay hundred $$.
