Canon 7D Mark II vs Fujifilm X-T1

Canon-7D-Mark-II-vs-FujifilCanon 7D Mk II is one of the best DSLR available in the market today where as X-T1 is a class leading mirrorless system with exceptional features, take a look at the detailed specification comparison review

7D-Mark-II-vs-X-T1-comarisoMegapixel:  The Canon EOS 7D Mark II is built with more megapixel as compared to Fujifilm X-T1, so the 7D Mark II is capable of producing high-resolution, well-detailed still imagery and HD videos.

Bigger Sensor Size:  The BIT large sensor size of Fujifilm X-T1 makes it capable to acquire more light while shooting images, But does the result will show significant difference compared to 7D Mk II is still a question until we see image comparison.

The NO-OLPF benefit – The Fujifilm X-T1 is designed with a randomized pixel pattern to eliminate the need of an optical low-pass filter whereas Canon EOS 7D Mark II includes an optical low-pass filter. Due to the absence of low pass filter Theoretically the images produced by Fujifilm X-T1 will be more clear and will have a better depth of color when compared with the images produced by Canon EOS 7D Mark II at 100%.

More AF Points: Canon EOS 7D Mark II Fast Hybrid AF system utilizes altogether 65 AF points but Fujifilm X-T1 offers just 49 AF points. So, it is clear that Canon EOS 7D Mark II will do fast and accurate focusing than Fujifilm X-T1.

Better Shutter Range: Canon EOS 7D Mark II features a shutter range of 30 – 1/8000 whereas Fujifilm X-T1 features shutter range of 30- 1/400. With a better shutter range  Canon EOS 7D Mark II delivers incredibly sharp and crisp images in comparison to Fujifilm X-T1.

Top Continuous shooting speed: Canon EOS 7D Mark II features fast shooting speed of 10fps and Fujifilm X-T1 offers the top continuous speed of 8fps.

Video Mode – Almost same in both with Full HD @ 60fps

Battery Life (CIPA): With Canon EOS 7D Mark II 800 shots can be taken in one battery cycle and on the other hand Fujifilm X-T1 battery rating is 350 shots. (According to CIPA).

Dimensions: Fujifilm X-T1 is smaller Canon EOS 7D Mark II so it is more handy to use.

Weight: Fujifilm X-T1 is almost half in weight as compared to Canon EOS 7D Mark II.

High ISO TEST

Canon-EOS-7D-Mark-II-vs.-Fujifilm-X-T1-5Image analysis – We are not able to notice any major difference in the image quality of both the camera. But yes Canon is showing bit better images with less noise.

Verdict: Based on specification comparison review, image analysis and Lens support we highly recommend you to buy Canon 7D Mark II

Canon 7D Mark II HIGH ISO TEST

Canon-7D-Mark-II-vs.-Nikon-D7100-5As we can see the Canon 7D Mark II camera giving less noise at with bit less details at ISO 12800 and 25600, may be due to the presence of strong noise reaction filter inside it.

Canon Multilayer Sensor Rumors

Canon-5D-Mk-4
Canon Multilayer Sensor rumors heat up again, many website suggest that Canon is working on Foveon like sensor and we may see some real products based on high resolution camera.

My thoughts…

As we already published few days ago that Canon have 3 multilayer sensor patent…

Until now we have seen the three multilayer sensor patent from Canon, the first patent is Just like Foveon sensor of Sigma, The 2nd Multilayer Sensor from Canon showing significant improvement in the design by adding a anti-reflection film in each layer, the third one in 5 layer sensor, the sensor features two additional layer (UV and IR), the UV and IR layer will remove skin spots to capture bright and clear skin tone.

So soon or later we will sure see a product based on Canon own multilayer sensor technology, we are not sure about it’s arrival time since Canon 7D successor development took almost 4 years ( still the specification of the camera bit inferior to recently announced Samsung NX1)… so Canon is slow, but they will announce a multilayer EOS camera in future.

Canon 750D to Feature EVF and 70D 20MP Sensor

Canon-750D-T6i-image
Good news: According to latest rumors surfaced from northlight (NL), The Canon upcoming Canon Rebel T6i / 750D will feature EVF (Electronic Viewfinder) and Sensor same as of Canon 70D (20.2MP APS-C CMOS) and advance DIGIC 6 image processor.

The Rumor look bit true – Yes its is possible and Canon will use Canon 70D sensor and DIGIC 6 to upgrade the image quality and AF system of the Rebel Line, but I don’t see any logical reason to drop a optical viewfinder from DSLR, It is possible that Canon may use Hybrid Viewfinder… Stay with us for more updates.

Nikon D750 vs Nikon D810 vs Nikon D610

Nikon D750 comparison
Specification comparison between Nikon Nikon D750 vs Nikon D810 vs Nikon D610, the image is approx actual size representation of all the three camera… now take a look below

Nikon-D750-vs-D810-vs-D610And the price difference

Nikon-D750-price-comparison

Clear Winner – Nikon D810

As we can clearly see that the Nikon D810 is offering better core specification by having ultra high-resolution sensor, no-optical low pass filter and same AF system. The ISO of Nikon D810 can be pushed down to ISO 32 , which will sure help you when you are looking for a longer exposure. The shutter range is also broad and camera can capture images continuous shooting up to 5 frames per second even having a 36 Megapixel large files.

Middle of the road – Nikon D750

I was expecting bit more from Nikon D750 announcement but it was a huge disappointment, Nikon D750 features same resolution as Nikon D610 camera but it does have low-pass filter, so technically according to Nikon itself the Nikon D610 will produce better image when compared to Nikon D750 camera due to absence of low pass filter inside Nikon D610.

Yes Nikon D750 advance AF system will sure attract sports shooter those who are looking for a affordable fullframe camera.

The Best Entry Level

Nikon D610 is a perfect camera when look at it’s price and core specification, the Nikon D610 doesn’t have better video mode like D750 or D810 or advance AF system but it comes without low-pass filter that will give you better image quality.

Verdict

If you are looking for perfect entry level camera than Nikon D610 is a excellent option even today, if you are a sports shooter and want a affordable option than buy Nikon D750 and if you have a budget of $3K than buy Nikon D810, The D810 is better than both.

Canon 5D Mark IV and 6D Mark II Rumor Update

Canon-6D-Mark-II-Image – creative image of Canon 6D Mark II DSLR

According to a latest rumor surfaced over the web, the upcoming Canon 5D Mark IV and Canon 6D Mark II camera will feature Dual-pixel CMOS AF Sensor, 6D Mark II is also rumored to feature tillable display unit….

the above mentioned (Canon fullframe Dual-pixel CMOS sensor) rumor look bit true to me since Canon started upgrading the Dual Pixel CMOS AF sensor from entry level DSLRs (SL1, 700D) and after that they added 1st gen of Dual pixel CMOS AF sensor to mid-range APS-C DSLR (70D) and finally the APS-C flagship –> 7D Mark II announced with 2nd gen of Dual-pixel CMOS AF Sensor… so it’s natural processor of upgradation and will soon hit Canon FF DSLRs.

Nikon D750 vs Canon 5D Mark III

Nikon-D750-vs-5D-Mk3-imageNikon D750 and Canon 5D Mark III specification comparison review, the Canon 5D Mark III is approx a 2 year old camera and Nikon D750 is few weeks old.. so take a look at the difference below

Nikon-D750

Nikon is giving you bit more resolution, but I am amazed that Nikon  took 2+ years to develop a 5D mark III rival and still the AF system of the recently announced Nikon D750 is inferior to 5D Mark III.

  • Nikon D750 ->  51 distinct points available, you get options to use 9, 21, or all 51 points depending on the situation.
  • Canon 5D Mark III -> 61-point autofocus system with upto 41 cross-type AF points (with f/4 lens support) and 5 dual diagonal AF points (with f/2.8 sensitivity).

The ISO range of Nikon D750 is also limited to 51200 only on the other hand the 5D Mark III ISO range touches 102400 mark, hence no doubt that the 5D Mark III will perform better in low light condition when compared to Nikon D750.

Nikon is offering a better Full HD Video mode with tilting display system and bit more resolution… and the (only) best part is it is more affordable compared to 5D Mk 3

and finally the verdict, the Canon 5D Mark III gives you advance AF system, more ISO range and based on specification comparison review we recommend you to buy 5D Mk 3.
