Sensor:
Practically both the camera using Canon made fullframe sensor but the technology used inside them are completely different, the Canon 5D Mark IV uses Dual-pixel CMOS AF sensor that can do fast AF while recording video or shooting with live-view model. Not only that, other brand users should also understand that the camera doesn’t have any dead pixels inside the sensor to do AF. The Dual-pixel AF technology uses to sub-photo diodes to acquire AF and hence your sensor doesn’t have any single dead pixels.
ISO Range
If you look at the ISO range of the current Canon 5D Mark IV, its much improved compared to the Canon 5DS camera. The standard ISO range of the Canon 5D Mark IV as well as the expandable ISO range both are better.
The Canon 5D Mark IV features 30 MP FF sensor whereas the Canon 5DS features 50MP FF Sensor, more megapixel on the same sensor plane means smaller photodiodes. When the sensor Photodiode becomes small it become less sensitice to light. Canon 5DS camera is not made to perform in low-light environment. It does need a well controlled environment to deliver optimal result.
Advance AF System :
The new Canon 5D Mark IV system uses touch and shoot / track technology with the help of High Speed Dual-Pixel CMOS AF system.
The Canon 5DMark IV DSLR uses two different types of AF system
- Dual-pixel CMOS AF Sensor for Fast AF during still and video
- 61 Point Phase AF module 41 cross-type (f/8 support at all points)
The Canon 5D Mark IV features advance Phase AF module whose All 61 point AF system is compatible with F8 aperture whereas Canon 5DS center point only support F8 aperture. The other major advantage Canon 5D Mark IV is Dual-Pixel AF system that enables super fast AF while shooting with live-view or video. The Canon 5DS features a contrast detect sensor AF become slow and sluggish when you s them for shooting in live view or video.

|
The Canon 5D Mark IV can shoot 4K videos on the whereas the Canon 5DS remain limited to Full HD mode only. The Canon 5D Mark IV record 4K video with an ideal 1:1 pixel sampling ratio and while recording Full HD video it uses the entire Full frame sensor. The 4K video is recorded using a central 4096 x 2160 area of the sensor at a 1.74x crop so there is still a lot of space of improvement left for Canon 5D Mark IV camera. BTW, it is better than Canon 5DS.
Wireless connectivity
The Canon 5D Mark IV feature built-in WiFi and NFC connectivity as well as GPS module. The NFC also allow you to enable remote shooting from your smartphone. The camera also compatible with CS100 Connect Station.
Conclusion: We highly recommend you to get the Canon 5D Mark IV camera, the camera features new sensor, advance AF system and a option to record 4K videos. Canon also introduced Dual-Pixel AF mode, that allow photographers to fine tune AF after the shot is taken.

Sensor: Nikon D3400 camera sensor is slightly larger than the sensor of Canon 750D / T5i. The Nikon D3400 offers 24 MP sensor and Canon remains limited to 18 MP. The ISO range of both the camera is exactly same. That clearly means the low light performance of both the camera is expected to remain same
Absence of low pass filter inside the Nikon D3400 – As we know that Absence of low-pass filter gives you more details while you capture a image. Canon 700d / t5i does have low pass filter inside it and it won’t give you details as much as Nikon D3400 is able to produce since we have two disadvantage associated with Canon 700D/ T5i camera 1. Low resolution compared to Nikon D3400 DSLR and presence of Low-pass filter.
Advance Phase AF Module – Nikon D3400 features bit advanced auto-focus system compared to Canon 700d / t5i. The Nikon D3400 features 11 point phase detect AF system where is the 700d features 9 Phase detect AF system.
Hybrid CMOS autofocus sensor inside the 700d will help you to focus quickly while shooting with live-view or recording a video. The Hybrid CMOS AF sensor of the 750D /T5i camera features built-in Phase AF pixels that will help you to acquire AF quickly while you are shooting still while using live – view display or recording a Video.
The Nikon D3400 camera comes with traditional contrast detect sensor that won’t help to focus quickly while you’re using a live view display or shooting a video, its contrast based auto-focusing system will get activated and Phase AF get disabled when you will use the live-view display or video-mode resulting slow and sluggish auto focusing performance. Hence the 700D / t5i DSLR from Canon features of better auto-focusing system compared to the Nikon entry level DSLR d3000 400.
Rest of the Core specification of both the DSLR remain same, both camera have approximately speed, ISO range of both the camera is approx same. The top continuous shooting speed of DSLRs is exactly same, both camera will give you 5 frames per second continuous shooting speed when you’re using DSLR in sports mode. But keep in mind that Nikon D3400 capturing 24MP images @ 5 frames per second whereas 700D capturing 18MP images @ 5 frames per second.
Nikon D3400 camera camera Office full HD recording at 60 frames per second whereas the Canon remains limited to 30 frames per second while recording a full HD video.
Auto focusing performance while shooting a video despite of offering a bit less frames in a video mode the Canon 700d / t5i will perform better since it uses a hybrid CMOS AF sensor will lock AF quickly compared to Nikon D3400 camera.
Battery Life: The battery life of new entry level DSLR from Nikon is way better compared to Canon 700D, the Nikon D3400 offers 1200 shots in a single re-charge whereas the Canon 700D / T5i offers 440shots in a single recharge.
The Nikon D3400 features built-in WiFi for easy file transfer, the D3400 is also light-wight and bit smaller.
Conclusion: Nikon D3400 will give you better image quality compared to Canon 700D / T5i since the camera features new 24 MP CMOS sensor with absence of low-pass filter, If we look at AF system then Canon 700D / T5i does have upper hand due to Hybrid AF sensor and it will give you fast AF performance while shooting with Live-view and video. Other advantage include Built-in WiFi, light weight and bit small.
For beginners we recommend you to go with Nikon D3400, Since Nikon will give you better image quality as well as 60fps option in Full HD mode.

From the table of the specification comparison of both the camera we are not able to spot any major difference between these two camera, most of the Core specification are almost identical
The sensor size, resolution, ISO range and image processor of both the camera is identical, hence both the camera will give same image quality .
The only noticeable difference is the introduction of a new battery that can capture 1200 shots in a single Recharge whereas the battery of Nikon D3300 camera was limited to 700 shots in a single Recharge The Other noticeable difference is Nikon D3400 is bi lightweight and Introduction of Snap Bridge in Nikon D3400 camera that will include more options to the user for sharing his image wirelessly with the help of a WiFi network
Conclusion if you are a owner of Nikon D 3300 camera we recommend you to hold your purchase hand don’t buy the recently announced Nikon D3400 camera since the camera doesn’t have sufficient amount of upgrades and its Core specification remains identical to its predecessor except minor changes. For the owner of Nikon D 3300 camera we recommend you to get Nikon D 5500 camera since it will uplift your photography to next level.
Price difference – The Nikon D3400 will cost you $100 extra, I don’t get any logical reason to spend $100 extra cash on camera that features same specification. I recommend you to get Nikon D3300 combo pack (B&H) that includes a zoom lens and a camera travel bag ans will cost you bit higher than the Nikon D3300.

The recently announced Hasselblad X1D camera features High quality Sony sensor, new menu navigation system with full touch control and a ultra-compact & portable design. Take a look at the size comparison of Hasselblad X1D vs Leica Fullframe mirrorless vs Fuji X-Pro 2 vs Nikon D800E
Hasselblad X1D vs. Nikon D800E vs Leica SL vs. Fuji X-pro 2 – Image Size Comparison
Hasselblad X1D vs Nikon D800E
The Hasselblad X1D vs Nikon D800E – If we look at both the camera it is very clear that Hasselblad X1D camera is not bigger than Nikon D800E, but at the same time if you look at the sensor size and dramatically larger lens-mount ring of X1D you can imagine the amount of effort Hasselblad team added to this project to make the system size portable, light weight and compact.
Hasselblad X1D vs Fuji X-Pro2
The difference in sensor size and body size of both the camera does look in proportion ? Fuji need to do some R&D in reducing the body fat of camera body 🙂
Hasselblad X1D vs Leica SL
And finally Leica killer has arrived ? – Both, Leica and Hasselblad strike a very specific market of pro-photographers with pocket full of cash. But I think a large number of Leica users including Steve Huff will going to try hands on X1D. The Hasselblad X1D is a perfect machine with High quality Sony MF sensor inside it, that will sure going to surpass the performance of Leica fullframe mirrorless cameras.
