According to a well-known YouTube content creator “Jan Wegener” who also predicted the arrival of the many Canon and third-party camera makers well before their announcement, and recently also very clearly hinted that the Canon 200 to 800mm lens is coming prior to any website or rumor mill.
Now in his latest vlogs, he very clearly said that the Canon R5 Mark 2 camera will arrive in the first quarter of 2024 and the Canon flagship mirrorless camera, the EOS R1, will arrive in the 4th quarter of 2024.
Not only that, he also confirmed that there will be several Canon PRO photographers who will be using the Canon EOS R1 camera during the Olympics, but for testing purposes only. Although we can expect some sort of development announcement at the beginning of the year, the final set of announcements, as told by him, is about to happen at the end of 2024.
Canon’s new Mega zoom lens is coming. Even more exciting news is that the lens isn’t coming under the L branding, which means the lens will be a bit more affordable and accessible to consumers.

It’s really great news that Canon is finally willing to put more affordable lenses on the market. In the absence of an OPEN LENS MOUNT, for sure putting more affordable lenses in the market is a good move by Canon, if they bring more glasses for RF-S Mount too, the community will surely grow and the consumer base will expand. BTW, if we talk about 200-800mm, Supporting a zoom lens under a $ 2,000 budget is a good move. Let’s hope and expect that we will get the Canon quality that we always expect from this brand.
We can now confirm that no Canon M50 Mark III camera is coming soon, and the biggest reason is that Canon has ended the EF-M mount. It’s not a rumor anymore, it’s confirmed news coming out from a Japanese website.
Canon has finally ended the EF-M mount mirrorless cameras. It was expected from the announcement of the Canon R10 that Canon will soon end the EF-M mount, since a camera maker never maintains two different sets of mounts for a single sensor size, either for APS-C or for full frame.
We told you the same back in December 2022, Canon will soon end their EF-M Mount-based cameras, kindly check this article
The Canon M50 Mark II has suddenly disappeared from Canon’s lineup. Although the EOS M item remains, there are no applicable models. The possibility of a Canon M50 Mark III appearing is close to zero, so it seems safe to call it the end of the EOS M series. At the same time, all compatible EF-M lenses also have a “low stock” mark. Camera specialty stores are still accepting orders, but production of the lenses may have already been completed.
Looking at the series of events, it’s obvious that no more cameras are coming under EF-M mount from Canon and no further updates may be given to those cameras. Being number one in the camera market, Canon must openly communicate these things to its consumer base before ending a system lineup because many have already invested in EF-M mount lenses. Now those lenses are of no use since EF-M lenses are not compatible with the recently announced RF mount-based cameras
Canon recently patented a neckband-style camera to capture video. The concept is truly unique and it will assist content creators in producing videos without exerting too much effort in holding their camera and creating content.
According to the patent document, the camera also has a built-in light. As we all know, Canon is introducing very uniquely designed V series vlogging cameras, so there is a high probability that we will see the neckband-style camera under the V series within the next one or two years
Canon RF-S 10-18mm Finally, we have the leaked images of the soon-to-be-announced RF 10 to 18mm f/4.5 to 6.3 IS STM lens. The lens is about to arrive very soon and is meant for content creators and vloggers since it’s available at an affordable cost. It will be a perfect addition for cameras like Canon R50, R100, or R10. If you need premium quality glass in the same focal length range and do not have any issues related to budget, then we do have lenses like Canon RF 10-20mm F4L IS STM
