As per the latest reports, the announcement date has been delayed and is now shifted to the first half of 2026. So, this is not the first time we have been getting the news, Canon R7 Mark II is delayed. The post that we published back on August 29, 2025, where we already dug out some of the core specifications expected to arrive inside the Canon R7 Mark II camera. We very clearly wrote in bold letters, even in the main image, that the R7 Mark II camera is expected to arrive sometime in 2026, specifically in the first or second quarter.
It looks like Canon is putting all its attention towards the development and announcement of full-frame mirrorless cameras. Just after the Canon C50, Canon is now preparing to announce the Canon R6 Mark III camera on November 6, 2025. And the shipping of the camera is about to start from November 20-22. So as you can see, the current schedule is packed with heavy gear, specifically the full-frame cameras for professionals.
2026 Will Be a Year of Canon APS-C Cameras and Lenses
Not only is the Canon R7 Mark II camera overdue. If we look at the Canon R10, it’s also being delayed for an update and is of similar age to the Canon R7 camera, so it is quite unusual for a mid-range APS-C camera to be four years old and so, waiting for an update. During the DSLR era, the Mid-range DSLR APS-C camera’s life cycle was only two years, so more or less in 2026, we will have some major refresh Canon APS-C Series, which will include for sure the the Canon R10 Mark II as well as the R7 Mark II. Apart from these two major announcements, Canon APS-C RF Mount lenses are also in the announcement pipeline for 2026.
Canon R7 Mark II Camera Core Specifications
The Canon R7 Mark II camera is expected to arrive with an updated 32.5 megapixel stacked sensor, alongside the 32.5MP APS-C sensor. We are also expecting continuous burst speed up to 30 frames per second with improved sensor, sharper images with new AI processing, improved IBIS mechanism, and video beyond 4K 60p (7K open gate). Take a look at the specification table that we are expecting to arrive inside the Canon R7 Mark II camera.
| Feature |
Details |
| Sensor |
32.5MP APS-C CMOS |
| Autofocus |
Dual Pixel CMOS AF II with subject detection (people, animals, vehicles) |
| Burst Shooting |
Up to 30fps electronic (15fps mechanical) |
| Video |
4K 60p (oversampled), 1080p 120p |
| Stabilization |
5-axis IBIS up to 7 stops |
| Build |
Weather-sealed magnesium alloy, 612g body |
Final Thoughts on the Canon R7 Mark II Camera Delay
The delay can be for a reason or maybe a calculated, planned marketing game since the full-frame cameras nowadays are much cheaper and affordable, specifically if you look at the pricing of the Canon R8 camera or Canon R6 Mark II camera after the discounts applied. So more or less, even the camera maker is now interested in upgrading or upskilling their consumer base—those who are quite a bit interested in photography or videography—to the full-frame zone. So, delaying the update may be intentional, so the consumer base can automatically upscale to the full-frame cameras in the absence of the APS-C solutions.
The second biggest reason is the absence of a perfect competitor in Nikon, Sony.

We need a Canon R50 V-style video-oriented update for the R100 Series, which will allow entry-level users to create content with a dedicated Mirrorless camera, all for under $650 with a kit lens. In this article, we’ll dive into our expectations for the R100V based on industry trends for creating a separate video line of cameras apart from Hybrid line, Like we have the Nikon ZR series, just being introduced by Nikon, we do have Sony ZV Series from past 3 to 4 years, and an lot of camera has been introduced under ZV series, and how we can forgot Canon, the No.1 Mirrorless maker in the world also has an dedicated V series, where we already have Canon R50V, V10 (Compact) and not only these two we are also expecting its expansion in Fullframe lineup of camera with Canon R8V and so on.
Why Canon R100V?
None of the camera makers can provide a Mirrorless camera for vlogging under $600 $650 range; they have failed in the mirrorless era to provide us with a budget solution. Only Canon with the Canon R100 series camera, which is now highly popular among entry-level users for its price and features.
Canon R100 is an excellent Hybrid Photography tool, but it fails to serve the Content creator consumer base due to its fixed Display unit. And limited Video functionality, like Crop in 4k 24FPS mode.
We do need a Canon R100V Camera, that falls under a reasonable price tag and should appeal to a wider audience, those who are looking for a camera specifically young age kids, college students, but they end up buying alternative vlog making tools like DJI Pocket 2, Action 4 or 5, or budget-friendly smartphones that they can do their Job.
Logical evolutions from the original R100. Expect a camera that builds modestly on its predecessor, incorporating subtle improvements like a vari-angle display for easier vlogging and selfies, while skipping luxuries like an electronic viewfinder (EVF) to keep the price down. Let’s break it down by specifications, price, and anticipated arrival date.

Canon R100V: Expected Specifications: Keeping It Simple and Affordable
The Canon R100V is poised to take the lead in the entry-level vlogging market, provided it arrives with a reasonable price tag and specifications that appeal to entry-level content creators. Although not as advanced as the R50V, it should be usable enough to create stunning content within budget. This means no over-the-top features that could inflate production costs, echoing the original R100’s no-frills approach. Here’s what we anticipate:
- Sensor and Processor: A 24.1-megapixel APS-C CMOS sensor, similar to the R100,
- Digic X / Digic 8 image processor: Even Digic 8 is capable of recording 4k 30FPS uncropped and 60FPS cropped, no need for update, since Canon M6 Mark II, announced back in 2019, was using a Higher resolution sensor of 32.5 MP and Digic 8 Image processor, so Digic 8 processor is more than enough if used properly without capping up the performance.
- Autofocus System: We already have Dual Pixel CMOS AF with around 143 AF zones and Eye Detection AF, in the Canon R100, no need to push AF upgrade in an entry-level camera.
- Video Capabilities: Improved over the R100 but still restrained.
- 4K video at up to 24p / 30p, Uncropped
- . Full HD would top out at 60p for slow-motion.
- No Canon Log (C-Log) support to keep the color grading simple for beginners, and the video would be
- limited to 10-bit HDR PQ mode only—
- No 10-bit internal recording in other profiles.
- This positions it below the R50V’s uncropped 4K 30p and more robust video toolkit.
- Display and Viewfinder: A 3-inch vari-angle LCD touchscreen for Vlogging angles, a good update over the R100’s fixed screen,
- No EVF, just like the R100, to save manufacturing cost on components and maintain a compact, lightweight body (expected around 356g).
- No Need for
- Shooting Speed: Continuous shooting at 6.5 fps with electronic shutter
- Connectivity and Battery: Built-in Wi-Fi and Bluetooth for easy app integration via Canon’s Camera Connect, plus a UHS-I SD card slot.
- Battery life around 450 shots per charge, using the same LP-E17 as the R100.
- Other Features: RF-S mount compatibility for affordable lenses, guided user interfaces for beginners, and basic in-camera editing. No weather sealing or advanced stabilisation to keep the build economical
Just by adding a Var-angle touchscreen for new users and removing EVF to cut down the cost, will make this camera perfect for content creators, but don’t underestimate the power of DIGIC 8 image processor, as we have seen in an 2019 EOS M6 II model, the image processor can alson do wonders as we have said used without any caping on performance level.
Expected Arrival Date: 2026?
Canon’s pattern of refreshing entry-level models every 2-3 years from the DSLR era, the Canon R100 was announced back in May 2023. Now, if they wish to introduce the Canon R100 V, Q1 or Q2 of 2026 will be a perfect time. A Canon R100V version will make a new consumer base for Canon, which is highly essential for Canon to retain in top position, if it can get connected with users who are beginner level.
In summary, the Canon R100V shapes up as a thoughtful evolution: better video and a vari-angle screen to modernize the R100, but with deliberate limitations to stay under the R50V’s shadow and maintain that sub-$500 appeal. We urge Canon USA (www.usa.canon.com) to announce an entry-level vlogging camera for beginners under budget, so beginners can enjoy vlogging in a camera under budget.

We have already discussed in detail related to the Canon R6 Mark III camera announcement in our previous article. Now, according to reliable sources, Canon will unveil the EOS R6 Mark III alongside the affordable RF 45mm f/1.2 STM lens on November 6, 2025. So, the wait is finally over. Additionally, now we have a confirmed set of core specifications of the upcoming Canon R6 Mark III camera. Let’s dive into the details
Rumoured Specifications for the Canon EOS R6 Mark III
So, finally, we have the detailed specification of the Canon R6 Mark III camera. Here’s a breakdown of the key rumoured specs:
- Sensor: 32MP full-frame CMOS sensor, Cinema EOS C50.
- Image Stabilisation (IBIS): Up to 6.5 stops (Thats a bit surprise to believe, since Canon R6 II has 8 Stops of IBIS)
- Burst Shooting: 40fps with electronic shutter, 12ms sensor readout speed for rolling shutter-free action shots
- ISO Range: Standard Maximum ISO of 64,000
- Video Features: Open Gate recording and Oversampled 4K60p from full sensor readout.
- Design and Build: No top LCD; updated EVF design with tally light and blue dot icon near the multi-function button, a bit similar to the higher-end models like the R5 Mark II and R1.
Canon R6 Mark III Price: Expected at €2,899 (approximately $3,100 USD)
Earlier rumours suggested a 24MP stacked sensor with 6K 60fps video, but, as per the latest information we have, the Canon R6 Mark III is using the same sensor as of Canon C50. The addition of the newly developed Sensor makes a dramatic shift in the core specification of the Canon R6 III. Canon is now putting a bit more pixel resolution this time, but it doesn’t mean they have compromised with the speed, still ur getting a 12ms readout speed from a 32MP sensor, a dream camera for both sports and landscape photographers.
Patent diagram for the Canon RF 45mm f/1.2 STM lens
The Canon RF 45mm f/1.2 STM Lens: A Budget-Friendly Prime
The Canon RF 45mm F1.2 STM is coming along side with Canon R6 Mark III camera, I am really surprised to see the price ta,g which is at €599 (around $640 USD), If you are new you make feel still high, but for an 15 year old Canon camera and Lenses user, its really an big surprise to see Canon 45mm F1.2 Lens available at Under $700 from Canon itself, not an third party Lens maker. Although the lens doesn’t have the L series designation, it means we have to face some sort of compromise in weather sealing of the lens, not the optical performance. This makes it an attractive option for enthusiasts seeking shallow depth of field without breaking the bank.

Leaked Image of the Canon EOS R6 Mark III: Real or Fake?
The good thing is that we do have a leaked image of the Canon R6 Mark III camera, but it is of low quality. We have tried to make it as clear as possible, but while working on the blurred image of the Canon R6 Mark III, our team member has mentioned that the shutter mode dial button, where the thumb is resting in the pic, isn’t circular. Which brings me to a conclusion that it may be a poor AI-generated Image, later on, someone added a Gaussian blur effect to make it feel real. So, I don’t want to make any further comment on the leaked image
The Canon EOS R6 Mark III will create a perfect balance between a higher resolution sensor and a perfect price tag. If the rumours are true, the for sure Nikon Z6 Mark III will soon get a very tough competitor in the hybrid camera market. Stay tuned to TheNewCamera.com for more updates

According to the latest rumors coming out from the Canon rumor mill, Canon will be announcing Cameras and Lenses in the month of November 2025. In fact, the Canonrumor mill shared two dates. for November: November 16, 2025, and November 26, 2025. A new camera is expected to be announced on one of these dates.
What kind of camera will it be? While it’s still too early to say for sure whether it’s the EOS R6 Mark III, sources have stated with a high degree of confidence that the EOS R6 Mark III is Canon’s next full-frame camera. Rumor mill also believes that the sensor in the EOS R6 Mark III will be the same as or close to the Cinema EOS C50.
But, adding the same sensor won’t cannibalize the sales of the Canon C50? If Canon R6 Mk III is coming with the same sensor, for sure they will use cripple hammer in the video spec of the camera, to keep the sales of C50, despite the arrival of R6 III camera with the same sensor.
Regarding new lenses, there are four lenses scheduled for announcement in the near future. It’s unclear what lenses will be released. The RF 300-600mm F4-5.6L IS is a likely candidate, as final testing and marketing for its release are already underway.
Thenewcamera.com take
There have been several theories about Canon’s next new product announcement, such as the end of the year or next year, but this rumor is said to be 99% accurate, so there seems to be a lot of hope. We don’t yet know what new product will be announced, but the EOS R6 Mark III seems to be a strong candidate. Since the announcement will be made in two parts, we can also expect the announcement of some kind of lens.

Our 2025 recommendations prioritize Canon models with strong user ratings, recent price stability, and features like 4K where possible. Data collected from US-focused reviews and extended the budget slightly for value. No major new budget Canon releases by mid-2025 or in late 2025.

The Canon C50 specification is now officially available, offering a blend of high-end cinema camera features in a compact camera body. So the Canon C50 is actually the latest edition of compact consumer-grade cinema mirrorless camera specifications and professional hybrid shooters, those who love to have professional quality video without carrying a bulk load. In this comprehensive guide to the Canon C50 specifications, we will delve into the details by exploring its key features, including a detailed specification table and unique innovations introduced by Canon. We will also discuss the camera’s price and compare it to its competitors. Save your searching for Canon C50 specification and details because this article covers it all.
The Canon C50 camera was officially announced on September 9, 2025. It is built on the legacy of Canon Cinema EOS series mirrorless cameras, incorporating one of the most advanced full-frame sensors developed by Canon and high-end core specs. Let’s dive into the details.
Overview of the Canon C50
The Canon C50 is a full-frame camera that is specifically made for cinematographers and professional content creators, although you can also use it for photography purposes if you wish to. Although it doesn’t carry a mechanical shutter, which nowadays is in fashion that most of the prime cameras also don’t carry, at the very same time, Canon has optimized its readout speed to showcase minimal rolling shutter effect while even capturing at 40 frames per second. The key highlights of the camera are the 7K 60 FPS recording capability in RAW, an option to record uncropped 4K 120 FPS videos, and, obviously, the Open Gate option that was demanded by pro users for a long time for maximum creative flexibility.
See, the Canon C50 is completely different from the traditional cinema cameras. Here, we do not have any electronic viewfinder; the camera completely depends upon the electronic shutter for its silent operation. It also includes a fully articulating display screen of 3 inches on the rear side with a red record button, which is, of course, a hallmark of cinema cameras, as well as a dedicated tally light on the front and an optional XLR handle for professional-quality audio input. The design looks very similar to the nearest competitor, the Sony FX3, but it uses the Canon RF lens ecosystem, where users might feel a bit limited for now — but yes, the third-party Lenses and adapters are coming in 2026, and before that, we do have a huge range of Canon EF Lenses too.

So, we all know the Canon C50 announcement is about to happen tomorrow (better to say within a few hours), that is on September 9, 2025. Just before that, two very clear images of the upcoming camera have been leaked by the Canon rumor mill. So in this particular post, we are going to explore the new design changes in the Canon C50 camera as well as we will also analyze the ports we have on the left side of the camera, which are clearly visible. So let’s jump into the content and explore the Canon C50 last last-minute leaks.

First Image: Side View (Ports and Connectivity Panel)
Well, we have this beautiful camera, kind of a boxy design, and the left side is very clearly visible, showcasing its professional input/output ports, which will be used for professional video workflow. So let’s explore the set of ports we have behind these rubber flaps:
Ports (from top to bottom):
- USB-C port: Multipurpose USB-C port in the C50 body, for power delivery, data transfer, tethering, or accessory control.
- Small rectangular port: A mini-USB or remote control terminal for wired remotes or LANC control.
- Time Code port: A gold-plated BNC connector labeled “TIME CODE” for genlock or timecode in multi-camera setups.
- HDMI port: Finally, we have a full-size Type A under an open rubber flap labeled “HDMI” for uncompressed video output.
- MIC input: 3.5mm stereo jack with a person icon for external microphones.
- Headphone output: 3.5mm jack with a headphone icon for audio monitoring.
Media Slot: A CFexpress Type B slot with an open door and ejection tool, supporting 8K or high-bitrate video.
Other Controls: A small red lock switch or button, possibly for the battery compartment or menu lock.
Vents and Cooling: No prominent vents, but internal airflow channels and a rumored active cooling fan suggest heat management.

Second Image: Front View (with Grip Attached)
Now let’s look at the front part of the camera, where we have the large hand grip, which is designed for comfortable longer hours of shooting.
Body and Labeling: The top of the camera is a metallic top plate with multiple threaded holes supporting accessory mounting. The branding “Canon EOS C50” on top, “Canon EOS C” with a red “C” on the front.
Lens Mount: Canon RF mount with electronic contacts.
Grip and Handheld Controls:
- Large rubberized handgrip, a thumb rest, and a contoured shape.
- Red REC button on the grip for one-handed recording.
- Control dial/wheel for zoom, focus, or menu navigation.
Body Buttons: Custom programmable buttons.
- The front button “12” is dedicated to AF LOCK.
- Front button “13 REC”: Dedicated to Recording.
Vents and Cooling: Built-in dedicated cooling. Ventilation slots near the handgrip for air intake indicate an internal fan for 8K RAW heat management.
Other Features: Power or tally light, an accessory shoe on top.
So, finally, the Canon C50 announcement is a few hours from now, and I am really very much excited to see how it is going to perform against the Sony FX3. We are not talking about the specifications right now since we are awaiting official announcements, and also as we get the detailed specification sheet of the camera, we will be publishing it right away on our website. Stay tuned for more updates related to the Canon C50.
