According to engadget RED CEO Jim Jannard has now confirmed that it will also be officially announcing its “new” RED Scarlet camera on November 3rd, 2011… the very same day of Canon Historic Global Announcement.

The camera most of the planet wants to see announced and shipped now! I don’t think it’s likely to appear before the end of 2011.

Canon 5D mark III Rumor on wideopencamera.com – There was some super secret stuff going on over at Birns and Sawyer yesterday under a duvetyne tent.

I was at Birns and Sawyer working out support gear on our FS100, and there was a duvatyne tent blocking off the last two prep bays. Somebody mentioned that there was a new camera, and nobody was allowed to see. When I asked Tim Smith about it, he told me that he was working on some DSLRs for the upcoming Ron Howard shoot. He did have 5D batteries in his hand.
