Sony RX100 VIA in 2019

Well Sony started a new trend by introducing the Sony RX100 VA camera. If you have missed the announcement of the Sony RX100 VA camera then here it is. Actually last month Sony upgraded the Sony RX100 V camera with new “A” version, And we have listed out the major difference between the two.

Sony RX100 VIA – Sony Next Camera in RX100 Series ?

It’s too early to expect any version of Sony RX100 VI camera anytime soon, because Sony recently announced this compact camera few months back. But, we are speaking about the possibility of the Sony RX100 VIA. If you look at the current trend of Sony. I do believe that we will see the Sony RX100 VI A camera next year. So, what we can expect from the next version? The 24-200mm F2.8-4.5 lens is expected to remain same even in the next version, but we will see upgrades in processor and sensor area.

No Sony RX100 VII camera ?

Well it do indicate, that Sony has changed the plan of introduction of new series of camera specifically the RX100 series. So, there is possibility we will not going to see the Sony RX100 VII camera in near future until and unless they do a major breakthrough in technology (that’s 24-200mm F1.8-2.8). And instead of that we will going to have the Sony RX100 VI A camera as the successor of the Sony RX100 VI.

Slower Lens in Sony RX100 VI

Yes the BIG reason behind the update of Sony RX100 V camera is the faster 24-70mm F1.8-2.8 Lens.  There are lot of people who are still interested in buying the older version due to the faster lens. So, Sony decided update the existing RX100 V camera with all the new features they have added to the Sony RX100 VI camera.

The feedback after the RX100 VI announcement, most of the users’s and pro shooters were not happy due to the addition of slower lens, despite of having more zoom range

Two versions the same RX100 series – VA and the RX100 VI

Sony will update both RX100 V (RX100 model with 24-70mm F1.8-2.8 lens) and RX100VI (model with 24-200 F2.8-4.5 lens) parallelly in near future. But things may change if they introduce a bright aperture based zoom lens with a new version.

But again it’s too early to expect anything, we will update you soon as we get any new information.
