According to the latest Sony camera announcement rumor coming from the rumor mill, Sony is preparing for its next announcement on May 21, 2025
Any previous post the human male has mentioned, the upcoming camera will have a tilting viewfinder just like we have seen in the Panasonic GX9 camera. That’s a great thing, that’s a great initiative if Sony is taking so, but mainly we would love to see some kind of changes or better to say major enhancements in the core specifications of the upcoming camera, for the upcoming Sony mirrorless camera updates.
What’s Coming Next From Sony FX2 Camera [Updated Content]
According to the latest rumors, Panasonic is about to announce a new FX8 camera at May 28, 2025. The Camera will feature the same sensor as we have seen in the Sony A7 IV camera., The best part is that being a cinema camera, it will have a built-in fan to support longer recording without any overheating issues .
Right now, we do not have any leaks from the rumor mill, and I don’t want to make any predictions over that, so it’s better to just have a plain sheet of Sony announced cameras in the past 3 years, and let’s just talk about their predicted scheduled update of Sony upcoming cameras 2025 and beyond

Sony A7S IV Camera – highly anticipated
If Sony wants to keep everything in sequence, then the next update should be the Sony A7S IV. The Sony A7S IV is long due for an update, and it was a highly popular camera among Alpha series users. Despite that fact, Sony has delayed the update of the A7S series for no reason, so if they move on their own schedule pattern of announcement, as we have sai,d the Sony A7S IV should be next.
Sony A7R VI with modest update?
Sony A7RV was a massive update from A7R IV. They used a Stacked CMOS sensor in A7R V, a new AI AF algorithm from the flagship series cameras, and an enhanced video core specification. Unfortunately, none of the competitors, including Canon and Nikon, use a 61MP stacked or non-stacked CMOS sensor in their models; hence, in the absence of a true competitor, we may see a modest or subtle update from the camera maker.
Sony A7V Before September 2025
People are eagerly awaiting the Sony A7V camera, with as per the latest Sony A7V rumors, we have it will arrive on or before September 2025. The camera is poised to compete with the Nikon Z6 III, but Sony is strategically holding back the Sony A7V from a full launch. They are reportedly waiting to analyze the final core specifications of the Canon EOS R6 Mark III before officially announcing the Sony A7V release date in 2025.
Finally, the RX Series Compacts
We would love to see, and Sony should continue as the global market share of premium compact cameras is rising, but at the same time,e we have no information related to RX series compacts as of now.

According to the latest rumours, Sony will be announcing a new product in May 2025. At this very moment, the only thing we know from a tipster’s hint is to consider it as a cine-style FX camera from Sony. Take a look at what the tipster has said to us in the previous post.
It’s a camera made for video users. I already have the review unit and am impressed with its overall performance. The only feature I wish this camera had is open-gate recording. However, the IBIS is the new unit that works like a charm for handheld usage.
Also, take a look at what the Sony Alpha Rumor website (Link) has said.
I am now 100% sure that there will be a new Sony announcement in May! I’m not sure yet what the name of the camera will be… but I’ll say this: I’m not buying the FX3 or the a7CII right now. I’ll have more to say next week.
PS: Btw, I was waiting for the Sony A7V camera announcement.
Last week, Sony registered a new Camera model in Shanghai, China. In Shanghai, China, Sony only manufactures the ZV series camera and their Cinema cameras. So, one strong possibility is that they will announce/update their ZV series compact camera. But the other strong possibility is the announcement of the Sony FX series camera.
Sony FX8 Rumor Details
According to the latest rumors, we have Sony may announce the Sony FX8 camera. The FX8 is said to be the direct successor of the Sony FX6 / FX9 camera.
Another rumor with less credibility is the budget FX series Full-Frame camera, but not the replacement for the FX3.
The Sony FX series is getting old and needs a refresh from the camera maker. Let’s hope and expect them to announce a new FX series camera soon. Stay tuned; more updates are coming.

According to the tip we have received, the next Sony announcement, which is expected to happen in May, is
It’s a camera made for video users. I already have the review unit and am impressed with its overall performance. The only feature I wish this camera had is open-gate recording. However, the IBIS is the new unit that works like a charm for handheld usage.
The tipster didn’t mention its FX cinema or A7c series camera
If you are waiting for a massive discount on the Sony A7 series full-frame mirrorless camera or searching for the best deal on Sony A7 IV in 2025, this is the best time to grab the deal. B&H Photo Video is currently offering a massive discount of $500 on the Sony A7 IV camera body, bringing it down to the lowest price ever for Sony A7 IV.
This sudden price cut raises a big question: Is Sony preparing to announce the Sony A7V camera, the next-generation upgrade to the A7 IV? In general, before a camera successor or next-gen mirrorless model is announced, retail stores and online stores put a huge discount on old camera models to clear stock and make space for new Sony full-frame camera releases.
Since there is no sales season going on, it looks completely weird when you see a major Sony camera discount in 2025 without any ongoing sales event. So this is a very clear indication that with this random price drop on the Sony A7 IV, Sony is about to replace its 3+ year-old Sony A7 IV camera, the Sony A7V is about to arrive. Canon EOS R6 Mark III also about to arrive, so Sony has to be quick with their move in the competitive full-frame mirrorless camera market.

One of my fav megazoom cameras, the Sony RX10 IV has officially been discontinued. As a large-zoom fixed-lens camera in Sony’s lineup, it offered 25x optical zoom, enabling shooting needs from 24-600mm equivalent focal length, making it a top choice for many Sony users. However, this model has now been officially listed as discontinued by some Japanese e-commerce sites (although it is still in stock on overseas platforms like Amazon and B&H). According to current information, Sony has not announced any successor to this model. However, with the increasing popularity of large-zoom fixed-lens cameras from Panasonic and Nikon, whether Sony will release a new model remains to be seen. Are you looking forward to a new model in this series?
Sony has finally announced the VENICE Extension System Mini. The main highlight is its form factor—as usual, it is very portable and able to record 8K videos, weighs approximately 0.54 kg, and is very easy to carry for some special kinds of shoots where portability is the main factor.
This system Mini is compatible with VENICE 2 6K and 8K models, and most importantly, the VENICE 2 6K model is now able to capture 8K resolution with this system, although it will require a system software update.
The improvement that has been made in the System Mini is that you are now getting approximately 4.5m (14 feet) of cable, allowing you to move a greater distance while keeping the head unit of the camera along with the lens only.
The System Mini is based on E-mount, and you can easily use E-mount lenses. It also supports hybrid autofocus with Eye AF tracking. Additionally, you can use PL-mount lenses with the help of an adapter, which in turn also transfers the lens metadata through the input port.
The VENICE 2 System Mini will be showcased at the upcoming NAB 2025 show in Las Vegas, beginning on April 6, 2025. The camera is now available for pre-order at B&H stores.
