Nikon D300S Finally Archived, Nikon D400 / Nikon D9300... Rumor Update

Nikon D300s and Nikon D700 discontinued  back on January 2014, now Just few hours ago today Nikon USA and Canada moved its Nikon D300S camera to archived section or also said to be retired category.

As we have published earlier that Nikon is preparing for a press event for June month and Nikon may announce one of the following rumored products.

1. Nikon D800S: Nikon D800S is not a true successor of Nikon D800 camera, the D800s is a minor update over Nikon D800, the camera is rumored to feature same sensor and newly developed Expeed 4 image processor.
2. Nikon D9300 / D400 (name still not confirmed) – Nikon D300S successor is also rumored to arrive on June or September 2014, the camera will feature advance core specification than Nikon D7100.
3. Nikon 1 inch compact camera – Nikon 1 inch big sensor compact camera is also rumored to arrive soon.

There is also one more possibility that Canon will also introduce a entry level DSLR line-up (Nikon D2300) to compete with Canon 100D / SL1 camera, the Nikon D2300 is rumored to arrive on Photokina 2014.

Nikon D800S OR Big Sensor Compact Very Soon?

According to latest rumors surfaced over the web Nikon is preparing for a press event for June month, some previous rumors suggest that Nikon may announce D800 successor (Nikon D800S) in June 2014 other big possibility is Nikon P8000 or P700 –  1 inch sensor based compact camera is also rumored to announced soon.

Nikon D800s / D810 Rumor Update

According to the latest rumors surfaced over the web the upcoming Nikon D800s OR D810 (name is still not confirmed) will be made in Thailand, that’s your upcoming fav camera will have “Made in Thialand logo”, the D800 / D800E were made in Japan.

Nikon D800S Will Use D800 Sensor, Sony A99 to be Discontinued Soon

Now we have bit more confirmed report that upcoming Nikon D800S will use same sensor old sensor of Nikon D800/E DSLR, the D800S will have new Expeed 4 image processor (only) and due to that we will see bit better JPEG output and 1 stop more ISO range compared to its predecessor, we also expect some improvement in continuous shooting speed and AF performance of the camera. Nikon D800S Coming on June 2014

Just like the D4s was minor update over Nikon D4, in the same way we will soon see Nikon D800 successor D800s (name is still not confirmed) with minor update in the core specification.

According to the recent rumors surfaced over the web the Nikon D800S will have same 36 megapixel Fullframe sensor as Nikon D800/E DSLR, no optical low-pass present… take a look at the major specification below

  • 36MP sensor (Same as Nikon D800/E)
  • No optical low pass filter
  • Expeed 4 imaging processor
  • 3.2″ 921k-Dot LCD Monitor

  • High Sensitivity Mode: 50-51200  (1 stop more compared to its predecessor due to new image processor)
  • 4 centre autofocus points

  • No Built-in Wi-Fi

As some websites are saying the the Nikon D800S will carry Expeed 4A image processor, but it’s not true since according to Nikon Expeed XA image processors are made for Nikon 1 series mirrorless camera...  the rumored price of the camera is said to be higher than the current Nikon D800E price ($3,296.95) ., official announcement is expected on last week of June 2014.

Nikon D800s Rumored Specification

Nikon D800s first set of specification surfaced over the web, the upcoming  D800s will feature a newly developed Expeed 4 image processor (used in Nikon D4s DSLR), take a look at the rumored specification below…

  • No low pass (AA) filter (just like the D800E)
  • Improved software to suppress moiré
  • Expeed 4
  • sRAW
  • AF improvements (like in the D4s)
  • Improved low light capabilities
  • 5 fps (6fps with the MB-D12)
  • Price around $3000

The image sensor will remain same but due to the introduction of new image processor we will see improvement in ISO range, Nikon D800s will feature Standard ISO range 100-12800 and Expandable 50-102400, the continuous shooting speed is also improved up to 5fps  (6fps with the MB-D12) and due to the updated image processing algorithm we will see improved output with low noise and sharpest image possible even at High ISO range.

Nikon D800S and Nikon D7200 Coming on 2014

According to latest rumors Nikon may announce Nikon D800 soon, so there will be no Nikon D4X coming and Nikon will update Nikon D800 model this year with Nikon D800S.
