In an interview with British Journal of Photography and other UK-based photography magazines, Dr. Andreas Kaufmann, Leica ‘s head of supervisory board When asked if such a new camera could include HD OR FULL HD video features, Kaufmann said that
“theoretically, yes,” adding that there are some issues with introducing video in a camera – “the data rate, the heat, and the battery lifecycle, but I think we solved that. No comment until we show it on existing and new models.”
He added: “HD video is interesting, and a lot of photographers would love to have it (in an M body).”
Leica Mirrorless system unlikely to be introduced in 2012?
When British Journal of Photography asked about the Mirrorless system, Dr. Andreas Kaufmann, said that
“We can’t produce enough of what we already have,”……”There’s a project in place, but no timeframe. But you should come to our event on 17 September to see what we have.”
Last year CEO Alfred Schopf said that they ” We are developing Mirrorless system that may use a APS-C sized sensor and …..You will see something at the next Photokina (Photokina 2012)”
Leica M Sensors
Leica’s head also confirmed that the Leica would continue to work with Truesense Imaging, the equity firm that took over Kodak’s sensor operations. The Upcoming M models may use sensors made by the Truesense Imaging.

According to RayGunn, (member of pentax forum) B&H rep told him that Pentax Q has been discontinued by the manufacturer,
I have just, this morning, been told the Pentax Q has been discontinued by the manufacturer. Went to the B&H website last night to order the Pentax Q, because of the latest price announced here, but the Q was nowhere to be found on their website. I did see the 02 lens price increased from $252 to $399, though.
When I called B&H this morning, I asked the salesman to order the Pentax Q for me, at the newly announced “low” price. After a short wait, he told me it wasn’t on any of his lists and must be temporarily out of stock. I asked him to check on when more stock was expected and he placed me on hold. After about a three minute wait, he came back
on the line and told me his manager told him the Pentax Q has been discontinued by the manufacturer.
So, the question I now have is: Is the Q completely discontinued or will there be a new model?
P.S.
Pentax Q is still available at Amazon Silver Pentax Q @ $539.99 / Black Pentax Q @ $523.50
