Just after Leica X2 announcement we got this news, according to latest rumors, canon will showcase its upcoming mirrorless system to selected customers / Journalist in Australia during PMA Australia at the end of May and finally Canon is expected to announce worldwide release of mirrorless system in June 2012.
Canon will announce two mirrorless models, one with G1 X sensor and other with APS-C, both will feature Wi Fi connectivity and image qualities similar to High-End DSLR cameras.

- Two Cameras
- G1 X Sensor Size
- APS-C a possibility in one camera
- 14 & 24 megapixels
- EF compatibility, but not EF mount.
- EVF on one camera
- 3-5 Lenses announced at launch.

EF compatibility, but no EF mount? Don´t get it… What does this means?
If one of the mirrorless model have G1 X sensor then crop factor will be approx 2X, so we may see some new lenses with mirrorless system arrival and EF / EF-S lens mount adapter for canon mirrorless system.
