The price of the Fuji GFX100S camera revealed today. The price of the Fuji GFX100S camera is $5999. Which is far less than it’s big brother.
Fuji GFX 100S is actually the successor of the Fuji GFX 50S Camera. The GFX 50S camera was announced back on Sep 25, 2018. Now, after roughly 2 years of gap, the successor of Fuji GFX 50S is finally coming.
The price of the upcoming GFX 100S camera is very competitive and matches with Canon and Nikon Flagship DSLR camera. Professional Users may prefer 67% larger Sensor (Medium format) instead of investing in a FF Sensor-based body which comes at approximately the same cost. But, yes if someone wants to switch the entire system they have to invest in the lenses too.
Although it’s almost confirmed that the GFX 100S camera will use the same 102MP 43.8 x 32.9mm BSI CMOS Sensor manufactured by Sony for Fujifilm. The Medium format Sensor uses BSI tech hence able to deliver an enormous amount of details in a single click.
So, finally, users can get a hands-on 100MP BSI MF Sensor under a reasonably priced compact GFX 100S body.
We will bring out more details soon as they become available to us.

Fuji Registered a new FF180005 Digital Camera, and according to Japanese sources the camera is probably GFX100 camera. The camera was officially announced back on Photokina 2018. And we also know that the camera features Sony made 100MP Medium format BSI CMOS Sensor and capable to record 4K 10bit video 4:2:2 via HDMI output and 4:2:0 in in memory card, built-in image stabilization system despite of having such a big sensor setup. The camera is a perfect Hybrid Solution for professional shooters and will cost approx $10,000.
We already have a wide range of Fuji Medium format lenses available and if you don’t have that budget for a 100MP MF camera you can also get the newly announced affordable MF camera at $4,499 with 50MP CMOS sensor.
We have already seen the prototype images and major specs of the camera.
Development Announcement from Fuji: Finally Fujifilm is developing their flagship 100 megapixel medium format mirrorless camera, you can say it’s ultimate gfx series medium format camera, which is schedule to arrive in the year of 2019 with a very high price tag.
One of the most interesting thing that we have seen in the prototypes The camera do features 5 Axis image stabilization system and phase detect autofocus pixels inside the hundred megapixel medium format sensor.
One of the most important thing that we have already seen the medium format sensor announcement from Sony in the past year, but those 100 megapixel medium format BSI CMOS sensors or you can say the hundred 50 MB BSI CMOS sensor doesn’t feature built-in phase detect autofocus pixels.
If Fuji film is promising for Phase detect autofocus system in there medium format camera, it’s a clear indication that they have self develop their sensor with their own homegrown Technologies. Possibly the GFX camera will be the first to carry a medium format X-trance sensor, And personally I would love to see X- trans medium format sensor performance when compared to earth medium format BSI sensor performance in near future.
One of the most important thing to know that the camera is also capable to record high quality 4K videos. And at the same time you will have a blazing fast autofocusing speed while creating your 4K videos, thanks to the built-in Hybrid AF Sensor.
And finally we have also got a confirmation from Fuji representatives that all the possible set ofGFX lenses present now and expected to arrive in near future are fully capable to resolve 100 megapixel resolution without an issue.
So, finally we are having a very competitive player in the medium format Battleground, and the space is still empty because we have hasselblad we Phase one but none of them have any promise things system like Fuji GFX system.
We do got some rumours that Phase one is also developing their lineup of medium format mirrorless camera but it still about to be confirmed.
Now one of the most disappointing thing related to the announcement of the so-called hundred megapixel medium format camera is its price, she said the camera will going to cost $10,000 which is of course very high, but at the same time if you compare the cost of the camera with the existing medium format professional solutions available via Phase ONE and hasselblad then you will find it reasonable.
we will update you soon as we get any development announcement or leaves related to the upcoming hundred megapixel medium format camera from Fujifilm.
So, after development announcement we may see official camera announcement next year. The specs are not know yet, except the fact the upcoming camera is said to have 100 MP Medium format sensor. But at the same time its FSI or BSI, no one knows yet.
Before any Rumor mills started speculating anything, back on November we have told you that Sony announced 100 and 150 megapixels BSI medium format sensor. And we were also the first website to told you that these sensor may get user inside the Fuji, hasselblad or maybe Phase 1 medium format camera.
Now let me know you that Sony have 3 different variants of a 100 megapixel medium format sensor and 2 different variants of 150 megapixel medium format sensor.
The three different variants of the hundred megapixel medium format sensor includes one sensor based on BSI CMOS Technology, the other two sensor are based on (FSI) CMOS technology and but one of them is black and white are you can say it some monochrome sensor.
The problem with 100MP BSI MF Sensor
The BSI CMOS medium format 100 MP sensor is not available commercially [see list of commercially available sensors]. So, if Fuji have good relationship (and they do have also) with Sony then only it’s possible to get the 100 megapixel BSI version. Otherwise, the BSI version is not available commercially to others at the moment.
Fuji next Medium format camera with 100MP BSI Sensor
Of course yes, we do believe that Fuji will going to announce it’s nest MF camera with 100MP BSI CMOS sensor.
