SURVEY REVEALS WHAT MAKES WOMEN SMILE ON CAMERA
Family Plays a Major Role in What Makes Women Happy
SAN FRANCISCO, Calif., March 14, 2011 – Traditional surveys, while important for capturing important trends, are often based on questionnaires and interviews; however, photographs tell a richer and more complex story.
In light of International Women’s Day, Kizoa.com recently conducted a survey, in which Facebook users could guess why women in photos were smiling, and post their own pictures about what makes them smile.
Of the pictures posted by Facebook users,
- More than 20% of the pictures were group pictures, featuring two or more women smiling together, and in many cases surrounded by their relatives.
- 25% of the pictures were actually photos of children or babies.
Other interesting facts were gleaned from the user comments:
- Latina women voiced concerns about the availability of jobs—both for themselves and for the people in their community.
- Family plays a large part in overall happiness, whether it is immediate or extended.
- Many US women are concerned about their family. One particular concern was voiced about the fate of their family members who serve overseas in the army.
“Kizoa users span many countries and five continents,” explained Meryl Church, Kizoa’s Community Manager. “This gives our online platform a unique viewpoint to single out cultural, social or economic differences.”

I’m happy to hear people commenting that Fujifilm came back to the professional market. The FinePix X100 is the starting point of the high-end cameras to follow in future, and although I can not tell you anything specific at this stage, please look forward to new Fujifilm cameras in the future.
