Canon working on a new type of heat dispense / Sink unit, you can see the structure of Canon hand grip that appears on the patent document shows as a dedicated heat sink unit inside. That will manage the heat produced by the camera body itself to avoid the over heating condition.
The new type of Heat sink system can be used in upcoming Canon 1DX Mark III or Canon 5D Mark V camera. Also see Canon Advance Display patent

With the ever changing demand in the photography industry. It is required to develop more secure heat sink system, earlier heat sink system was developed with the context of still shooting in the DSLR. But nowadays DSLR being used as multipurpose cameras, they also record 4K videos and at the same time with the help of dual pixel CMOS autofocusing system they keep track of subject all the time, so for all this activity requires very heavy amount of processing inside the camera and in-turn there’s a lot of heat generated by the image Digic processors, that should be managed by the camera system inside

Recent patent document suggest us Canon is working on big display units for its future DSLRs.

As you can see in the patent images and details, a very large display screen is placed behind Canon professional body and even few controls of the camera is hidden behind the display of the camera. Canon may be also working on is working on completely new kind external plug and play Display unit that will change the concept of LCD display screen behind the DSLRs.

Keep in mind these images are coming from patent document & real, May be Canon is working on new breed of DSLRs ? Since few months ago we have got a rumor that Canon is preparing to announce a Video dedicated DSLR series. In general with a time span of 2 to 3 years a patent becomes reality, So we have to wait for it.
So, at the end we can’t confirm you anything at the moment but from the images it really looks like Canon is preparing extensive display system for upcoming mirrorless professional dslrs.

Canon patent a new viewfinder for professional DSLRs that features magnification ratio of 0.82X. Let me know you that the 5D Mark IV viewfinder features magnification ratio of 0.71X and the Canon 1DX Mark II features magnification ratio of 0.76X.
As we all know that viewfinder is the most important user interface of the DSLR camera. Now let’s know what is magnification ratio in DSLR camera ?. It generally refers to how big the viewfinder image appears, for example a theoretically perfect viewfinder will have 1X magnification ratio.
1X is the size of things appear when you look them with your eye. Now if your Camera, say Canon 1DX Mark II have 0.76X magnification ratio makes things appear to be approx three-quarters the size they look to be with your naked eye. And to be clear 0.82X is better than 0.76X.

Canon filed a patent for 8K capable 70-200mm F2.8 Lens. The patent hunting website egami speculates – ” Canon has an eye to the 8K era ….. the 70-200mm F2.8 lens is capable to resolve Super High-resolution videos 8000 × 4000 pixel size 1μm”. We all know that 8K video resolution is 7,680×4,320, which is less than 8000 × 4000, take a look at the patent details below
