According to the latest rumors that surfaced over the rumor mills, we can expect an announcement from Nikon in Eary May 2023. That’s the only piece of information we have from the sources of the rumor mill.
Now, the big question is what comes next? We have rumors about the Nikon Z8 camera, lenses, and much more.
We also know that Nikon Never does a direct announcement of their PRO Series camera bodies, and similar cameras like Nikon Z8 should have a development announcement first, and after a month of a gap we have its full announcement.

This is an update to the previous rumor, According to the latest rumors coming from rumor mills
Latest Information Related to Nikon Z8
-According to the latest information, it will be announced in April and will ship in May (development announcement may be earlier) -Uses the same
battery as Z7 (EN-EL15c)
-External battery grip will be prepared
– Video is 8K60p
– Equipped with USB-C terminal compatible with USB Power Delivery for charging / power supply
– 9 million dot EVF (5.8 million dot EVF for EOS R3)
If the rumor is true, then for cameras like Nikon Z8, we must have a development announcement prior to Nikon Z8’s official announcement. In genral Nikon post development announcement followed by a teaser video of the same.
On July 2017 we had the Nikon D850 development announcement and on Aug 2017 Nikon D850 was officially announced. So, if Nikon follows the same pattern, then we should have a Nikon Z8 development announcement this month (March 2023)

Nikon Philippines teaser – SAVE. THE. DATE March 25, 2023. On March 25, 2023, Nikon Philippines to held an event, and also posted a teaser on the Nikon Philippines FB page. Nikon Japan also has an event on March 28, 2023 (Tuesday) from 16:00-18:30.
If Nikon is Planning Something Big?
Yes, they are. We have strong hints from the past that Nikon is preparing to announce Nikon Z8 and Nikon Z6 Mark III cameras. We have also seen the leaked images of the prototypes coming straight out from the Philippines with some mocked-up stories that its fake.
I strongly believe, as per the latest rumors we have a worldwide March end meeting, for Nikon Z8 and other upcoming Nikon products, soon after the meeting we will have the development announcement of the Nikon Z8 camera. Nikon Z6 Mark III official announcement is also expected alongside with Nikon Z8 development announcement.

A new Nikon camera prototype is being circulated on the web, the body design of the camera looks similar to Nikon Z6/ Z7 Z6 II / Z7 II body. At first look, the camera seems like a Nikon Z6 Mark III prototype.

Canon already has super affordable lenses like 60mm F11 and 800mm F11, these super affordable lenses were built using a Multi-layer Diffractive Optical Element that enables a lens to be made considerably smaller than traditional lens construction.
Now Nikon is in the mood to use the same tech and build affordable telephoto prime lenses like or even better than Canon. Japanese website digicameinfo spotted patents that reveal Nikon’s future plans. These are Nikon’s Telephotoprime DO lenses, All these Lenses are published as patents.
Nikon Upcoming Lenses
1. 600mm f/5.6,
2. 1000mm f/8, and
3. 400mm f/4.5
As per my previous experience, if the Nikon R&D team patents for approval then it will take roughly two years of time to make them as real products. So, we can expect the arrival of these lenses sometimes at the end of 2024 or in mid of 2025.
