If you look at the top images of both the camera (Olympus E-PL8) then you can see the design is almost same compared to its predecessor. But, on the top-left of the camera we can clearly see a cut has been made. The is reserved for a built-in flash light which was missing on the E-PL8 Mirrorless camera.
On the front you can clearly notice a better grip has been added to hold the camera compared to E-PL8 camera which was having a very little grip. So, from leaked images we can say that design of the camera remains same. But, the grip of E-PL9 camera is more improved with the addition of built-in flash.

According to latest rumors Olympus E-PL9 camera is coming on February 2018. Yes, we have written a lot about March CP Plus announcement, but the the Olympus E-PL9 coming next month. The camera already registered at wireless certification agency.
Olympus EP-L9 – IM008 ?
If you look at the upcoming camera models list, we have Olympus IM008 (code name) camera. The IM008 model features built-in WiFi as well as Bluetooth connectivity.The IM008 camera aka Olympus E-PL9 camera registered few months ago.
I expect introduction of new 20MP sensor inside the Olympus E-PL9 series camera with 4K video mode. The Olympus E-PL8 camera was limited to 16MP sensor and Full HD video recording mode.

Olympus registered a camera for Bluetooth certification and it’s Name is Olympus E-PL 9. In past Olympus registered a product for Wi-Fi certification, and its code-name was IM008. We have suspected that it maybe Olympus em5 Mark II.
But now confirmation and leak suggest that IM008 camera was actually Olympus E-PL 9.
