 Olympus OMD E-M1 image According to the latest rumors surfaced over the web Olympus will soon announce new OMD series camera, the upcoming camera is completely new and it’s not a successor of any present OMD series camera , that includes OMD E-M1, E-M5 and E-M10.
It’s really interesting to hear that Olympus is working on a completely new OMD series camera, there is a very good possibility that the upcoming OMD camera will be Hybrid Camera just like Samsung NX1 Mirrorless (see NX1 at Amazon) by having 4K recording option and a Phase AF sensor…. these features will make upcoming OMD series camera a prefect competitor for recently announced Samsung NX1 camera, Canon 7D Mark II camera or Panasonic GH4.

 We have already seen the Sony and Kodak smart lenses, Sony recently announced the QX30 and QX1 lens module .., the Sony Alpha QX1 features 20MP APS-C sensor and a E-mount that grabs all the E-mount lens that, a BIONZ X processor, and the QX1 also supports RAW files and the Sony QX30 features 20.4MP 1/2.3-inch sensor packed with a 30X optical f/3.5-6.3 zoom lens and features sensor shift image stabilization.

Olympus will finally discontinue the XZ compact camera line according to latest rumors, now Olympus will focus on the development of large sensor compact camera just like recently announced Panasonic LX100 M4/3 …. now if we can look at the previous rumors published from rumors mills.. the company is already working on Digital Version of Trip 35 camera … so finally we we may see a retro looking for pro compact camera from Olympus any time soon.

 According to latest rumors Olympus is testing a new type of PEN camera, the camera is rumored to feature a newly customized CMOS sensor with same size like the original film pens,

The pen line isn’t discontinued, rather it’s being taken back to it’s roots. One of the mockups has the sensor in a portrait orientation like the original film pens, the space saved by the shutter traveling sideways rather than vertically allowing a viewfinder above it (still in the center line of camera, which is hard to do with the vertical running shutter, almost all other mirrorless have the EVF on the left hand edge or a hump because of it).
But the source who published the information also suggest that the Olympus management may not approve the camera for final production because it’s too much “risk”.

I think this year, interchangeable-lens camera of Olympus has grown and + 140-150%, but part of the lineup OM-D because that uniform is large this.

No details about the sucessor of E-M1 is available yet but the camra will sure have advance PDAF sensor, 4k recording capability and retro design same as of its predecessor.

The Olympus E-PL7 camera just anno0unced few hours ago..details can be seen here and just after the announcement Olympus uploaded five high resolution images captured via Olympus E-PL7 camera… take a look at the image below the center part is cropped to 100% and aperture was set at F5.6, 13 sec shutter and ISO down to 200…
