The following improvements have been made in version 1.1.
– Distortion control and Auto bracketing can now be enabled at the same time.
– An issue that caused light sources to appear green with continuous shooting in Night landscape scene mode has been resolved.
– When the camera was turned on by pressing the playback button with the mode dial set to “U” (user setting mode), and the MENU button then pressed, an error message was displayed. This issue has been resolved.
– An issue that prevented the zoom from operating when the zoom control was pressed in the “T” direction and then immediately pressed in the “W” direction has been resolved.
– An issue that prevented the shutter speed display from blinking when the shutter speed specified with the mode dial set to “S” would result in under-exposure has been resolved.

DxO just tested the New Nikon D7000 DSLR, the overall score of D7000 is 80 (better than Sony SLT Alpha 55). Nikon D7000 Replaces Sony from its second position and Pentax Remains the clear winners of APS-C category.

TOKYO – Nikon Corporation is pleased to announce the launch of the new Nikon Professional Services (NPS) global website today, November 9, 2010. The new NPS Global site will serve as one of the measures in which Nikon reinforces its services for professional photographers.
NPS is a membership organization through which Nikon offers support and services to professional photographers throughout the world. For nearly half a century, NPS has not only provided routine maintenance and repair services for professional photographers’ equipment, but has also provided support for them at international events held throughout the world. With the expansion of Nikon’s lineups of high-end digital-SLR cameras, NIKKOR lenses and other accessories, the NPS Global site has been developed to serve as a portal that distributes the latest information to assist NPS members working globally in their photographic activities.
In addition to introducing an overview of NPS activities, the NPS Global site will offer members greater convenience. For example, it provides: links to regional NPS sites to find out about practical local information, local service facility list for photographers to visit when they face with equipment problems while they are on overseas assignment, and world-wide NPS service depot information. The site will also offer contents, such as the introduction of effective techniques for using professional equipment. Canon Update on Mirrorless interchangeable lens camera
we hear (thanks) of a change in some of Canon’s internal camera designations to include a 3rd category — compact, slr and mirrorless. It was emphasised that this was just a new internal category and had no products in it or release timeline at the moment.

TOKYO – Nikon Corporation and Nikon Imaging Japan Inc. are pleased to announce the launch of my Picturetown 3D, a new 3D imaging service that offers 3D image conversion over the Internet for viewing of 3D images on a dedicated 3D digital photo frame.
my Picturetown 3D is a service for registered members that offers a 3D image conversion service available from Nikon’s my Picturetown, an online image sharing and storage service, and supports viewing of 3D images without specialized eyewear on the new NF-300i 3D digital photo frame. The primary services offered are as follows.
- Loan of an NF-300i 3D digital photo frame
- 3D image conversion of still images stored on my Picturetown
- Viewing and sharing services for 3D image utilizing my Picturetown functions
- Distribution of 3D contents (still photos and movies) with my Picturetown
These services not only allow users to view their photos in dynamic 3D format, but also enable the sharing of 3D images between NF-300i 3D digital photo frames.
What’s more, the Android mobile operating system has been adopted for the NF-300i 3D digital photo frame, enabling the inclusion of functions other than simple image viewing, including a calendar, a clock and display of weather information. my Picturetown 3D is only available in Japan.
