Stay tuned, We will publish the images and specifications of the upcoming camera soon, as they become available to us.
Canon recently developed a new image sensor for surveillance purposes (security camera, etc). The newly developed sensor is a layered type sensor (No, we are not talking about favon sensors this time), it is Canon’s homemade advanced Stacked CMOS sensor in two layers (but, its more advance than canon existing stacked CMOS sensors): The Newly developed sensor carries its central processing unit (CPU) punched on rear side of it, that performs calculations in a second layer for super fast readout speed with almost non-exitance rolling shutter or motion blur being introduced in the image or video, the sensor readout speed is so fast it can clearly capture the number plate of fast-moving cars in the road without any distortion.
Now let’s talk about the major advantage of the camera sensor or you can say it is a BREAKTHROUGH TECHNOLOGY, When ur shooting in an environment with a significant difference in brightness (shadow vs highlights like shooting on a harsh sunny day without any lens filters or reflectors or even lights.). Canon’s newly developed CMOS sensor divides the entire scene into different parts and follows a algorithm of “exposure by area” that changes the exposure conditions for each area. So, u get a perfect HDR output from the sensor either the sensor capturing still or video. Undoubtedly the new CMOS sensor can improve the performance of surveillance cameras.
So, is there any possibility of Canon using the same sensor technology in Mirrorless cameras?
Yes, we do believe that Canon will use the newly developed sensor tech in the Upcoming Mirrorless cameras too, but obviously not so soon. It is possible that Canon could use the same sensor technology in mirrorless cameras. See, initially, the sensor is designed for surveillance applications like High-Quality security cameras etc. But, if we look at the technical aspects of the sensor, having a sensor with Zero- rolling shutter issues and multi-area exposure HDR image and video will upscale Mirrorless camera performance to the next level.

Industry’s highest standard, performance of “CMOS sensor” for surveillance developed by Canon
The developed CMOS sensor is a layered type with two layers: pixels that convert external light into electrical signals and a central processing unit (CPU) that performs calculations. Compared to when pixels and CPUs are placed on the same substrate, more CPUs and dedicated circuits Processing power has increased, making it easier to shoot high-precision images even when the subject is moving.
The CMOS sensor developed by Canon this time divides the screen finely and adopts “exposure by area” that changes the exposure conditions for each area.Since no compositing process is required, there is no need to worry about blurring the subject. It can contribute to Improving the performance of surveillance cameras by, for example, simultaneously recognizing the vehicle license plate and driver’s face at the entrance/exit of an underground parking lot.
According to the latest rumors we have from rumor mills the Canon R8 announcement is expected in Feb of 2023. Canon R8 Announcement in February 2023. According to the rumor mill, the camera will feature the same sensor as we have seen in the Canon R10 camera, a 24MP Traditional FSI APS-C CMOS Sensor. No information is available about the core specs of the camera.
Earlier it was rumored that Canon R8 will replace the Canon EOS R with a full-frame sensor and advanced core specification, but am disappointed to see that one more Camera is coming in between R10 and R7 with an APS-C sensor and we already have rumors of Canon R50 and R100 too, so how many RF mount camera Canon wants to add for entry-level users without having proper APS-C RF lens range? as well as the Lens mount is also locked for third party lens makers.
Well, let’s wait and watch.. We will post an update soon as we get any new information related to Canon’s upcoming cameras.,
Should you buy Canon M50 Mark II in 2023? We are getting a lot of questions from our subscribers and visitors: Is Canon M50 Mark II a good-to-buy camera even in 2023?
Canon EOS M50 II is available at a super affordable price and the set of features is also very appealing. But, once you get into a camera system, it’s an ongoing process of investing in the camera systems and lenses.
As you know Canon has now announced new RF Mount APS-C Cameras and lenses, and now the EF-S Mount (DSLR mount is dead) and now the big question is will Canon will continue to make EF-M Mount cameras when they have to build an RF Mount APS-C Camera line-up.
Even if you are keeping eye on the latest Canon Rumors, everyone is talking about Canon R50 or Canon R100, all these are entry levels and Mid-range APS-C cameras coming under RF Mount in 2023. But, No one is now talking about upcoming cameras under EF-M Mount like Canon EOS M50 Mark III or Canon Canon M6 Mark III.
The Actual problem was Canon engineers were unable to add a Fullframe sensor in EF-M Mount and so they decided to introduce a brand new Mirrorless RF Mount back in 2018 with the introduction of the Canon EOS R and Canon EOS Rp cameras.
The EF-M Mount was designed for APS-C Sensors only, at the time of the announcement of the Canon EF-M Mount Canon engineers did a big mistake. And ended up the possibility of introducing a full-frame sensor inside the Canon EF-M Mount camera.
In general, a Camera maker never keeps active two different mounts for the same type of sensor. Now, as you know the whole story and I think ur smart enough to decide which way you want to go.
Should you buy Canon EOS M50 mark II Camera in 2023?
No, we don’t recommend you buy the Canon EOS M50 Mark II in 2023. If you feel so Canon R10 is costly and you want to buy a canon affordable camera better to wait for upcoming entry-level cameras like Canon R50 and R100. Or do we have budget alternatives?
Best Budget Alternatives for Canon M50 Mark II in 2023
Sony ZV-E10 – Sony ZV-E10 is an excellent camera and features more advanced core specifications than the Canon M50 Mark II camera. The ZV-E10 is mainly a camera for vlogging platforms, but you can also shoot good images with the camera. The Camera features 24MP APS-C Sensor and a Highly reliable AF system with face and eye detection, the camera also has amazing quality oversampled and uncropped 4K/24p capture, headphone and microphones ports, a selfie touchscreen, a high-quality onboard vlogging microphone. So, it’s a multiple-purpose camera available at a super budget, at the same time Sony E-Mount is an open lens mount back from 2018, So if you wish to use any of the lenses from third-party makers you will never face AF issue.
Nikon Z30 – Nikon Z30 is a 20.2MP APS-C mirrorless camera designed for visual content creators, the camera features the same low-light sensor that we have seen in the Nikom Z50 and ZFC. The only thing that Z30 misses (and the same in ZV-E10) is no EVF to save up the production line cost. But again if ur a content creator better to get the ZV-E10.
We are getting a lot of information about the Panasonic S5 Mark II camera. Earlier we posted that the Panasonic camera will arrive at the beginning of 2023. Now according to Ordinaryfilmaker [Simon] youtube channel. The Panasonic S5 mark II camera is expected to arrive with a brand new Phase AF system, according to the sources the AF system of the newly developed Panasonic S5 Mark II camera is as good as Canon and Sony’s latest AF system.

Canon will Grab this Golden opportunity? Sigma CEO during an interview he said is “very interested” in developing mirrorless lenses for Canon RF-mount
Even Canon lovers will never forgive Canon if they didn’t accept such offer, we would love to see Sigma ART Lenses for Canon RF Mount cameras — thenewcamera
Btw, I am not able to understand the language of the video, so here words may be different. But the intention is very clear that Sigma wants to join RF mount.
