Canon Super 35MM Stacked CMOS Sensor Details leaked today, take a look at the details. Take a look at what the source said
Canon is introducing a full-frame stacked 6.4μm DCG-HDR DPAF with an FWC of 75000e- (ISO125~160), RN of 1.3e-, and a frame rate of 60fps. I am happy to hear that the Canon R1 and Canon R5 Mark II do not come with global shutter sensors after looking at the low-light performance of the Sony A9 III camera (although this news isn’t new to us). But, the big question is why drop MP below 45? If you compare with Sony A1 and Nikon Z9 both have 50-45 MP sensors, the market competition is going around 40+ So Canon should also announce something in a similar resolution otherwise it will look like an update to a Canon R3, not a flagship camera.

According to the rumor mill the R1 coming before the R5 mark II, The information seems quite reliable, as it comes from a well-established source. The phrase used by rumor mill is “consider this to be in the bank” which is an idiomatic expression meaning that you can rely on this information as being accurate or certain. So, keep your fingers crossed and wait for a big update from Canon

Canon next next-generation vlogging camera patent surfaced today, the design being shown in the patent is slightly different from the existing Canon V10 camera. Also, the sensor area shown in the figure resembles an APS-C sensor instead of a 1-inch sensor being used in the Canon V10 camera, take a look at the images below
Now you have noticed the difference at the front and top part of the vlogging camera and now it’s time to look at the rear part of the camera and notice the difference in button labels compared to the existing Canon V10 camera.
As you can see we do have differences on the rear side of the camera too, and we have a mode dial on the rear side like a Canon Mirrorless camera instead of the old style of circular center fixed button layout like Canon V10.

I am receiving a lot of questions from my subscribers about when the Canon R10 Mark II camera will arrive. Many of them are interested in purchasing the camera but are a bit worried that if the successor arrives in the next 2 to 3 months, it would be better for them to wait.
Canon R10 Mark II Coming on August 2024 [Expectation]
Since the Canon R10 is the first of its kind, we do not have a scheduled update path for the Canon R10 series. However, Based on my experience and the way Canon has updated their DSLR cameras in the past, If we consider Canon’s previous DSLR cycle as well as scheduled arrival times, and considering all those factors if we make an educated guess, the expected arrival time of the Canon R10 Mark II is somewhere around August and September of 2024.
Canon R10 Mark II will feature a 32.5MP APS-C CMOS Sensor
Now, what do we expect from the Canon R10 Mark II camera? It depends on market competition, not on our expectation list.
So, it depends on competitors, let’s discuss the two possible situations we have for Canon R10 mark II
- Since we already have the Sony A6700 camera with a 26-megapixel APS-C CMOS sensor, there are strong rumors that the upcoming Sony ZVE10 Mark II camera will carry forward the same sensor at an affordable price tag. If by any chance Nikon announces the Z50 Mark II sometime in the first or second quarter of 2024 with a higher resolution sensor, then Canon will surely use its 32.5-megapixel APS-C CMOS sensor from the Canon R7 in the Canon R10 Mark II camera.
- Otherwise, if the Nikon Z50 Mark II camera arrives with the same 20-megapixel CMOS sensor and even if the Sony Z10 Mark II arrives with a subtle update without having a higher resolution sensor, in that scenario, Canon will also move with its traditional 24 MP sensor and an updated image processor. So, it all depends on the market competition. If the level of competition rises, Canon will move in that direction as they already have the sensors.

According to the latest news, a Canon R3 Mark II camera will likely be released sometime in 2025. Generally, in the past, Canon updated its flagship full-frame DSLRs every 4 years. Considering the announcement date of the Canon R3 was in September 2021, it seems quite logical to expect an update to the Canon R3 camera in 2025.
