According to the latest rumors surfaced over the web, we may see third-party lens options from Chinese lens makers in the year 2025. They are actively not only developing a wide range of autofocus lenses for brands like Sony E, Nikon Z, and Fuji X, they are also actively working on a collaboration with Canon RF Mount, one of the names that come in front of us is Viltrox.
Now they are working for the access of both full-frame and APS-C format lenses of the RF/RF-S Mount, but due to the complexity of technology and the entire process that a third-party lens maker has to follow before they put their lenses in the market, it is still uncertain whether the lenses will reach the market by 2025 or not. But they are putting in maximum effort to bring out new lenses for at least the Canon RF-S mount in 2025.
Now which APS-C lens we are expecting to be announced first for the Canon RF-S mount? The sources share the 1.2 LAB series lenses, specifically mentioning the Viltrox AF 35mm F1.2 LAB, which is expected to be the first, additionally followed by a series of F1.4 lenses that compete against Sigma’s recent offerings.
Another good news is that the expansion is not only limited to Viltrox at the moment, as two more third-party lens makers are involved to get access and make Canon RF mount lenses. However, the names are unclear yet, and we will bring updates as soon as they become available to us.

Canon will add 4K 120fps video recording capability to Canon R6 III as well as Canon R7 Mark II in 2025. According to the latest rumors, Canon is testing out the Canon R7 Mark II camera body prototypes, here is what surfaced over the web a while ago. “Despite the tech. designed to maintain DR and low-light performance, the sensor readout speed is impressively fast. With the Digic accelerator, it supports 4K at 120 FPS, but cropping happens in HQ mode. However, is that when you enable pixel binning, you can record 4K at 120 FPS without any cropping.”
One thing, if the above is true then the Canon R7 Mark II, without a doubt a video beast, even Sony FX30 does crop at 4k 120fps.
Stay tuned we will update you as soon as we get any new information

Canon’s Game-Changing Firmware Update: Frame.io Cloud Integration is Coming! Canon’s C400 and C80 are ready to get their update soon, here is the press release
Canon collaborates with Adobe to bring native Frame.io Camera to Cloud integrations to select cameras
Canon U.S.A., Inc., a leader in digital imaging solutions, is excited to announce a new collaboration with Adobe to bring Frame.io’s Camera to Cloud connectivity to select cameras, starting with the EOS C400 and EOS C80, enabling users to send proxy files directly from the camera for a faster and more secure path from production to post. The new feature, activated in-camera, will be included in a free firmware update scheduled for a Winter 2024 release from Canon USA. It will be available for download on the Canon USA Website.
The update supports simultaneous proxy file transmission to Camera to Cloud from the EOS C400 and EOS C80 cameras while recording original camera files (OCF) and proxy files internally. The proxy files can be sent over wireless or a wired Ethernet connection.
Canon’s proxy files match the same filename, timecode stream, and metadata fields as the original camera files, and are natively supported for playback on Frame.io. The efficient proxy files are available to view, share, and edit remotely without requiring additional processing or conversion. The proxy files can be uploaded to the cloud, automatically, allowing for a more streamlined workflow, with videographers in one location able to quickly share proxy files with their team in a separate location.
Stay tuned, more updates are coming
