So finally, we will having our next Mega zoom camera from Canon and of course its name is the Canon SX70 HS. We now have the specification of the camera as well as its images of the camera and the announcement is expected in next few days. So finally we will be having a Canon MegaZoom camera after such a long gap. And I am surprised to see that can and done nothing to improve the optical zoom lens of the camera despite of using a new sensor. However, due to the introduction of new sensor and Digic 8 image processor the camera is able to record 4K videos and for sure we will also see improvement in image quality of the camera of the new camera.

Why… just why? Why do otherwise reputable manufacturers keep making these. 21 megapixels on a 1/2.3″ sensor with an f/3.4 maximum aperture is severely diffraction linmited. Probably 10-12 real megapixels, 9-11 “marketing” megapixels.
So, this will be the Canon equivalent of the Nikon B700?
