I doubt Canon will deliver a 24 megapixel DPAF 1″ sensor. Unless they have finally fixed their chip production issues, they would be delivering a front-side sensor against Sony’s current BSI/stacked sensors. So this is either a really more important development than just a new G7X, or an uninformed rumor.
Canon is using homegrown 8.29 MP 1 inch DPAF sensor in XC15 and XF405 4K which records 4K at 60FPS with Dual Pixel CMOS AF support.
As Dave said, unfortunately 1″ 24MP DPAF is FSI sensor not a BSI
Wasn’t it like Canon was using Sony-made sensors in smaller sensored cameras since, like, forever?
