Canon 5D Mark IV Release 6+ Months Away

Canon-5D-Mark-IV-side

According to a article published over famous rumor mills the Canon 5D Mark IV announcement is at-least 6 months away from now. It is expected that Canon will announce Canon 1DX Mark II before the announcement of Canon 5D Mark IV camera and if it’s true than Canon will sure wait to get a sufficient sales volume of Canon 1DX Mk II.

We do hope this time Canon will bring out advance phase AF module compared to its old 61 point phase AF module/sensor used inside Canon 1DX and 5D Mark III. The other most important feature we are waiting is introduction of Dual-pixel CMOS AF technology in fullframe still camera, however Canon already implemented Dual-pixel CMOS fullframe AF sensor inside its C300 Mark II Cinema announced on 8, April 2015.

Take a look at the AF speed of Canon Fullframe Dual-pixel CMOS AF sensor below.

The prototype has an improved AF system and the ND-feature of the C300 II in it.

Canon is soooooo far behind the leading edge and forget the bleeding edge of the new Sony Alpha. I am just hoping that the Mark IV or X (or whatever it is called) can at least match the D810 for technology and capability including dynamic range, but at this point after waiting so long, I am NOT hopeful.

The new camera can’t reach the D810 or A7R II DR.

On the other side the A7R II can’t focus very well in low light situations.

The EF 16-35 IS and the 70-200 2.8 II Canon lens work very well with the A7R II, but the EF 100-400 IS II works not perfectly in from of the A7R II. The big white Canon leses don’t work with the A7R II.

    Sorry for my mistakes.

  • Dual Pixel CMOS AF on the new Canon 5D will be gret. I want to purchase Sony A7S2 but with taht what will i do will all my Canon L lenses? Metabones adapted doesen’t work in continous Af with Sony… so let’s hope Canon will do something better this time!
