We have done a quick specification comparison review between Canon EF 50mm f/1.8 STM Lens and Canon Canon EF 50mm f/1.8 II Lens, take a look at the major difference between the 2nd and 3rd generation of lens.
Due to more diaphragm blades the newly announced lens will create more smooth and circular bokeh compared to the older version of the lens, the minimum focusing distance is also improved from 45mm to 35mm. The Max magnification is also increased that will result better closeup and macro shots. The most important feature is introduction of stepper motor in the new lens, the lens will not do more silent and fast AF compared to it’s predecessor.
