What a bizzarely weird aperture range. Most zooms with variable aperture cover 1 stop, this nearly 3 stops. Surely a much better choice would be 16-60 f/2.8-4. BTW they also had patents for 2 other variations none of which seemed attractive, much like this.
Lenses are generally never that accurate about their focal length(s) or aperture ranges. And Tstops are much more accurate than f-stop, anyway. And then there’s what focus breathing can do to your angle of view compared to your focal length. It’s all a mess.
The normal aperture range for this type and class of lens would be f/3.5-5.6, anyway, so this is a big improvement.
definitely a step in the right direction 🙂
