2019 Japan BCN ranking are out and finally we are surprised again by the rankings. It’s not Sony in the leading table, we have the Canon as the market leader with DSLR as well as Mirrorless category.
The only thing I am not able to understand that why Nikon is limited to digital camera with integrated lens category even after announcing amazing products like Nikon Z6 and Nikon Z7, BTW, Nikon Z6 shipping started from next month so, let’s hope next year the figure will change and we will sure see some improvement in Nikon’s raking as well as Sony’s.

Canon’s standing is easy to understand. They field-test every new model before the public sees it. Their specifications are rock-solid. If you ever break one, you can get speedy repairs from a factory-trained-and-certified technician. And if you’re ready to sell your 6-year-old Canon 5D Mark III, B&H will give you roughly TWICE as much for it as for either a slightly-newer Nikon D800 or an even newer Sony A7R.
A Sony A7III, Nikon Z6 and Canon EOS R may all sell for similar prices today. Let them get rained on and dropped and covered with dust while you’re trying to change lenses. Then let’s talk about which one you prefer.

My understanding is that the full-frame mirrorless is tiny compared to the small-sensor mirrorless. So, even if the Z6/Z7 are outselling the Sony alphas and Canon R, that’s just a little noise in a tsunami of Canon M systems.
