We have already published few days ago that Canon profit is going down and yes we don’t the exact reason behind that or maybe it is due to DxOMark Lab test result, No serious Mirrorless system announcement from the company and slow development of products (Canon took 4 years to develop 7D Mark II flagship camera and still its core specification is behind the recently announced Samsung NX1), Now back to Topic Nikon financial results for the first half of the fiscal year ending on March 31, 2015 is out now, the Company is still managed to drag out some profit despite of the low sales volume in the first half year when compared to sales volume of the earlier year in all product category.
Also take a look at the financial estimation for the year ending on March 31, 2015:
“Sales volume forecast of digital cameras – interchangeable lens type is revised by reflecting the first half year results, however, forecasts of sales and operating income stay unchanged. Although the market recovery of digital camera – interchangeable lens type has been slower than predicted, sales shift toward mid/high-end cameras is expected, thus the full-year forecasts for sales and operating income remain unchanged.”

[…] have published the the article on November 9th, 2014, that Nikon Sales Down – Still Making Profit in the same article we have also published the financial estimation for the year ending on March […]
To be honest, this doesn’t surprise me at all; although there have been some fabulous new cameras introduced last year, particularly in the full frame format, we STILL didn’t see that allusive D400. Why the ridiculously long wait?
Also there is a huge market that Nikon are missing out on with the likes of Fuji’s X100T and Sony’s R100III style cameras.
Go on Nikon you know you can do it.
