The numbering is confusing me. I assume the 77D sits above the 80D but it’s a replacement for one of the rebels isn’t it?

I don’t think the 77D carry rugged body like Canon 80D.
It’s a copy move from Fuji where Fuji announces a X-T2 and after 6 month when X-T2 sale rate slows down then they announce X-T20 (baby X-T2).
A welcome copy move. The world need it.
Practically Canon is offering a 80D sensor in Rebel price.
BIG QUESTION is what will happen to Canon 80D ? no one gone buy that camera since same sensor is sitting inside a Rebel camera… one thing is sure.. Canon is planning something BIG.
But Rebels should be 3 digit numbers, so 770D maybe 77D is a spanner in the numbering system. What will 77D miss out compared to 80D as it seems to have same AF.
