According to latest rumors surfaced over the web two variants of 5D Mark IV coming, the first one will be direct update for the current 5D Mark III DSLR and it will carry a newly developed 28MP Dual Pixel CMOS AF III sensor and advance AF module on the other hand the 5D Mark IVc will be more video oriented camera and will feature a 18MP FF sensor camera with dual pixel CMOS AF II sensor, take a look at the rumored specification below of both the camera and share your thoughts with us
Canon 5D Mark IVc for video shooters
18MP
61 point AF system
ISO 100-204.800
4k video (source says Canon has yet to define the frame rate)
Dual Pixel AF III
Many advanced video features
Features taken from Canon’s Cinema cameras
Canon 5D Mark IV for still shooters
28MP sensor
12fps
Dual Pixel AF III
New and more advanced AF system (compared to EOS 5D Mark III), apparently it will not be the same AF as the 5D Mark IVc (which sounds a bit weird to me)
Anti-flickr technology (seen first on the EOS 7D Mark II)
Crop mode (featured on the EOS 5Ds)
ISO 100-204.800 (expandable to 409.600)
The cameras is expected between Summer and Fall 2015, we will update you soon as we get any new information.

I can confirm that Canon works on two different cameras and want to split the 5D Mark III replacement camera in a photo and a video related camera. Both cameras that are out for testing have a filter in front of the sensor to prevent moire.
If the cameras really hit the market I believe that the 5Ds had no chance on the market and the 5DsR will be sell good but not so good as the more multipurpose 5D Mark III replacement camera.
The downside of the split. You get a photo or a video camera for a relative high price. If you want a camera for both worlds you have to buy both cameras. But that is very unrealistic for hobby photographers.
all well and good – so they announce a new Camera – and X months after release it “expected between Summer and Fall 2015” –
or will they try a new marketing approach and announce a product the day it hits the market – after all times have changed and they are no longer the only fish in the sea
I only wanted this to have a pro video camera shooting 4k AND the ability to take pro photos 28 mp
Not one or the other. Camera will e a rip off unless a hybrid for both!
From a consumer’s perspective this coupled with all the other rumours just looks like a disastrous mess from Canon trying to be everything to everyone but from 4 different new cameras.
Understand that stills shooting has a different focus to what a film maker needs, but then again a pro film maker doesn’t through choice use a DSLR – not just because of the feature set but the form factor isn’t perfect.
So having a video-oriented spin on a DSLR when the only reason people use DSLRs for video is because they have the DSLR in the first place for stills shooting is utter utter madness.
Canon – if you’re listening – get a grip and knuckle down to make the *one* 5DIV the world wants!
– Better AF
– Great low light, as good or better than the mark III
– 4K video (essential – my phone does this now, no reason my £3k camera can’t)
– No LP filter
– circa 40MP would be good, to give a bit more crop flexibility, and represent a step up from the mkIII – but NOT at the expense of low light low noise quality
I mean filterless is clearly the way to go, with software filtering in the embedded DIGIC or post-processing, so why even pollute the market with options? Get off the fence and give us the best all-round solution.
No photographer wants to swap out all their lenses but if Canon can’t follow up on the success of the 5Diii with a bloody good DSLR with half-decent video then…
Oh gr8! Canon does another move that I havent even thought about, but its the worst move for a customer… All i needed was a MKIII with autofocus for video, and THAT’s
it… now they split it and i wont be getting both cameras… this is IDIOTIC! And obviously marketing move to make more $ :/ Im dissapointed. :/
I was going to get the mark iv expecting it to be basically the mark iii with 4k video. That would be great. Instead they ruin the photos and add 4k… Looks like canon screwed up again. They are charging over double what panasonic and samsung charge for the same thing and over a YEAR late. The only way they can stay in the game is to have a hybrid camera which looks like they failed again. I guess i’ll get the Black Magic URSA mini for video and a cheap camera for photos… ill make sure to go with nikon over canon since canon is now p*ssing me off.
I don’t get the video one. If they want to make a video friendly dlsr, why use 18 megapixels? To avoid line skipping and to allow for light capture it should be a fraction of that.
Thanks Canon! Finally listening to us that don’t shoot video on our dslr.
You don’t get 4K video in the 5D Mark IV and no video version of the 5D Mark IV because Canon has to protect the Canon video camera lineup. None of my prototypes have 4K video in it. Maybe a third prototype exist. But that is no likely.
The 5D Mark IV prototypes have a filter in front of the sensor. If you want the best IQ at base ISO buy the 5DsR. I’am very happy with my two cameras.
You will not see a 5D Mark IV with more than 30 megapixels.
Canon don’t see a big future in DSLRs for serious video productions. They will try to grow their EOS cinema cameras instead.
You will see only one new 5D version this year. Canon want to release three 5D versions in 2015. Two of them are the 5Ds and 5DsR.
I believe that Canon wait with the release of the 5D Mark IV until they have sold a lot of 5Ds (unlikely) and 5DsR cameras.
An early release of the 5D Mark IV will cut the 5Ds and 5DsR sales. Not every pro need 50 megapixels or more. On the other side a it makes no sense for hobby photographers to buy a 5Ds or 5DsR camera. Around 50 percent of the 5D Mark II and Mark III sales are done by hobby photographers.

Don’t believe that the 5D Mark IV will be a gigantic update to the 5D Mark III.
Expect:
Dual Pixel AF
USB 3 port
faster SD card slot (I have sd cards, I want two CF card slots)
more advanced AF system (compared to EOS 5D Mark III
Anti-flickr technology (first seen in the EOS 7D Mark II)
Crop mode (first in the 5Ds and 5DsR)
little impovement for low light situations
one of the prototype have two processors and is faster
Sorry. My error.

Полная жесть, как так то! У меня 5D Mark III, хотел поменять на 5D Mark IV, а теперь надо из за такого поступка переходить на Nikon. Мне нужно снимать видео и фотографировать, мне не надо 2 камеры, мне нужна одна!
