Now after 5D mark III light leak problem its time for Nikon D800 & D4, Nikon identified a small unit of Nikon D800 and D4 can lock up and become unresponsive, you can prevent this if you disable the highlight and RGB histogram displays of the camera.

Nikon’s statement reads. “Nikon is investigating a permanent solution to this issue and will update users accordingly. To immediately resolve this issue, users can turn off both the ‘Highlights’ and ‘RGB Histogram’ display options in the ‘Playback Display Options’ sub-menu found in the ‘Playback’ menu.

DxOMark published the result of Canon 5D Mark III sensor, the overall score of 5D mark III sensor is 81, before jumping to any decision please remember that the test score of DxOMark is based on Sensor RAW output, the low-light score of Canon 5D Mark III is 2293 ISO, Canon EOS 5D Mark III nearly ½ Stop better in low light conditions compared to Canon 5D Mark II (1,815 ISO).
The dynamic range score is almost same as 5D Mark II, the 5D mark III shows its improved performance behavior at high ISO test only.
Canon 5D Mark III vs Nikon D800
On sensor war Nikon D800 is a clear winner, the overall score, dynamic range, portrait color depth and low-light score is better than the Canon 5D Mark III.
A video Test done by Joe Marine, Nikon D800 sensor captures more light compared to 5D Mark II and 5D Mark III under low or High ISO settings, but both 5D Mark II and 5D Mark III have less noise at high ISO with bit flat details due to in-camera noise reduction filters.
Nikon D800 performance is excellent up to ISO 1600 the sensor captures more details compared to its competitors
At High ISO Both 5D mark III and II have less noise,
Personally I will prefer 5D mark III or II for video, Which camera do you prefer? – Nikon OR Canon – Share your thoughts with us

Image Test
dslrmagazine Done a 30MP+ test with Leica S2, the Hasselblad H4D-40 and the Sigma SD1 Merrill, Only Hasselblad H4D-40 giving out similar image quality to D800 at base ISO, in overall image comparison test Nikon D800 performance was outstanding
Nikon D800 video have more details compared to Nikon D4
Latest artcile published at EOSHD suprised us, “$3000 Nikon D800 thrashes flagship $6000 Nikon D4 for video” and yes its true,
The 35mm full frame sensor of the Nikon D4 is unbelievably soft at video, Nikon paid no serious attention at the sensor architecture design stage to video. Nikon D800 has a Sony CMOS Full frame sensor which has double the resolution for half the money than the D4.
Latest test at DxOMark shows us Nikon D800 overall score is the best sensor score ever measured at DxOMark Lab and Nikon D3s is still the undisputed king of low light photography.
the Nikon D4 gives perfect 1080p in crop mode but the full sensor image is soundly beaten by the consumer level Nikon D800.
