Insta360 Pocket Camera: Dual Lenses Confirmed by CEO and Trusted Sources – Not DJI Osmo Pocket 4 Pro

Is the Insta360 Pocket camera coming with a dual-lens setup? Well, that’s a really interesting thing, and yes, we are getting a lot of reports from multiple authentic sources that the first generation of the Insta360 Pocket camera is about to carry a dual-lens system. In this article, we are going to discuss the things that made us believe the news is true. So let’s discuss in detail.

Breaking Down the Insta360 Pocket Camera Leak

Yesterday, a new post from one of the trusted source Igor Bogdanov, where he shared his personal thought: the said image is not of the DJI Pocket Pro. It is Insta360. According to him, the image that is shared by the Reddit user with the caption of DJI Osmo Pocket 4 Pro is not actually the DJI Osmo Pocket 4 Pro camera. He has shared side-by-side images of the actual DJI Osmo Pocket 4 Pro and the latest model, which the user is sharing. And yes, you can notice quite a bit of difference between the camera images. Bogdanov’s insights are drawn from reliable industry sources. By providing side-by-side comparisons of the DJI Osmo Pocket 4 Pro, he highlights discrepancies that savvy observers might miss at first glance.

Insta360 CEO’s Tease on Weibo Sparks Speculation

And just after that, we have a post from Insta360’s CEO. —Insta360’s CEO, JK, reposted these pics on Weibo and teased, “What if it’s not from DJI?” That got people guessing it might be a new Insta360 Pocket camera. Some folks also think it could bring new Zoom capabilities.

Most importantly, both highly reputable persons of the industry are telling us the same thing, the Dual camera lens-based camera is the Insta360 pocket camera and nots DJI pocket 4 PRO

Confirmation of Dual Lenses for Insta360 Pocket Camera

The Insta360 Pocket camera is coming with dual lenses—a trusted source, Igor Bogdanov, already confirmed it yesterday, and now Insta360’s CEO has confirmed it. Confirmed this by sending us the clear hint via social post on Webio.

Thenewcamera.com Take – And at this moment, I am not able to have a second thought or doubt about that picture. So yes, if it is true, then it is really a very exciting thing for sure that the Pocket camera and its first version from Insta360 is going to have a DUAL camera setup.

That’s a really remarkable thing, and if it arrives under a budget, it is giving us much more than what the Pocket 3 has offered us, and Obviosuly Dual Camera Lens based camera is said to DJI Pocket 4 Pro — which is about to arrive in later part of the year, and may not arrive in USA under DJI branding due to FCC issue, since DJI is now in FCC Covered list. Yes, there may exist some variation in the sensor size and specifications. We are going to elaborate and explore them also, as soon as we get them, but for now, that’s the information we have.

Details on sensor size and full specifications remain under wraps, but variations from the DJI lineup are expected. As more information emerges, we’ll dive deeper into comparisons, including image quality, stabilization, and battery life. For now, the dual-lens reveal positions Insta360 as a strong contender in the pocket camera space.

DJI Osmo Pocket 4 Retail Box Leak: Creator Combo Revealed with Confirmed Specs

Exclusive Leak: Insta360 Pocket Camera Prototype Photos Revealed

Hold your breath, because this time you are going to witness the first look at the Insta360 Pocket camera. Extreme thanks to the source, who shared the images with me. Just a few days ago, we shared the Insta360 Pocket 360 camera patent with you guys, and just after that, we now have the prototype images of the upcoming camera.Well, the leaked prototype images for the first time confirm the key elements of the patent that we discussed earlier. The upcoming camera is a modular-style camera, where we can detach the camera unit, the display module, and the battery life of each module can be extended using an external attachable battery grip.

Other than that, in the frame, it is very clearly visible that we have interchangeable lens modules that can be attached and detached from the camera, making it suitable for every pro-level videography and content creation workflow.

Insta360 Pocket Leak: From Patents to Prototypes

This month, we already had a massive patent leak, and obviously, the details we are getting are suggesting a direct rival to the DJI Osmo Pocket 3, and potentially even the upcoming Pocket 4 camera, which we are continuously covering on the website.

The patent already describes a snap-together modular system camera, which means your handheld gimbal camera can be assembled in different parts, and you can detach the display and place the camera somewhere else while it is still working. And for sure, that’s the biggest advantage you are going to get with the Insta360 Pocket camera, which is far ahead of the DJI Pocket 3 / Pocket 4 that we have seen so far..

Now, these new leaked images – shared exclusively with TheNewCamera.com – show actual hardware components, moving beyond line drawings to tangible prototypes. Captured in a clean, white-background setting (likely a testing lab or early manufacturing stage), the photos reveal disassembled modules that align perfectly with the modular concept. This isn’t just speculation; it’s hard evidence that Insta360 is advancing toward a mid-2026 launch (Q2/Q3), potentially shaking up the vlogging camera market amid DJI’s reported delays.

Detailed Image Analysis: Breaking Down the Prototype Parts

Let time into details, and let’s frame my frame analysis of everything that we see in the image,  the image that we say is clear, dark grey colour / black, we have tried to analyse the details and their champ into the details

Multiple Camera Heads Confirmed in Prototype: Two Distinct Configurations Visible

This was a really big surprise, especially when we closely examined the image and all of our team members independently verified the same. We now have a very clear indication—maybe not 100% confirmed, but yes, it is feasible that two different camera heads are visible in the image.

The first camera head appears to be associated with the Insta360 Pocket 360 camera and does have a mechanical gimbal attached to it, which very clearly aligns with the DJI Osmo Pocket 3–style design.

Apart from that, on the left side of the image, we can see another camera head that looks noticeably heavier, possibly housing a larger sensor, likely a 1-inch sensor. This modular camera head does not have any moving parts associated with it and appears to be completely independent, using high-quality optics instead of mechanical stabilization.

This could indicate an early prototype version of the Insta360 Pocket series camera visible in the frame. At this moment, we do not know whether the Insta360 Pocket camera will launch with multiple camera heads or a single one, as it entirely depends on the company’s final production decision regarding which prototypes make it to the mass production line.

However, one thing is certain: if multiple camera heads are introduced, it would be a huge advantage for content creators, allowing them to choose the best configuration based on their personal shooting requirements.

Close inspection of the prototype parts reveals something even more revolutionary — Insta360 is developing two interchangeable camera heads: Compact Gimbal-Less Head with Leica Lens The Super-Elmar 1:2.8/21 lens is shown permanently (or semi-permanently) mounted on a small cubic sensor module with the flip-screen attached below. This creates an ultra-portable, pocketable camera without any gimbal — essentially a direct Leica-lens vlogging camera that fits in your pocket. Perfect for run-and-gun shooting, mounting, or when you don’t need stabilization. Gimbal Head (shown without lens) The separate 3-axis gimbal handle has a clear mounting interface at the top where the lens + sensor core snaps in. This allows you to take the exact same Leica-lens core from the non-gimbal version and attach it to the gimbal for stabilized shooting. This means users will be able to switch between two completely different form factors using the same lens/core module — again I have to say that its something DJI has never offered. It’s modular design taken to the extreme.

Speculations and Implications for Insta360 Pocket in 2026

Based on this leak and prior patents, here’s our educated guess on what the final Insta360 Pocket could offer:

  • Video Capabilities: 8K30fps 360° or 4K60fps standard, with Active HDR and PureVideo low-light modes (building on the Insta360 X5’s tech).
  • AI Features: Enhanced subject tracking [with the modular gimbal head], auto-editing via app, and 360° horizon lock for immersive content.
  • Competitive Edge vs DJI: Modular lenses (including Leica options) and Modular camera heads, if introduced, then for sure it will outshine DJI’s fixed camera module-based pocket 3 or pocket 4 camera.
  • Potential Drawbacks: Modularity might add complexity or weight, but the pocket-sized design mitigates this.
  • Release Timeline: Mid-2026 seems likely, although we are still waiting for confirmed date via trusted sources

These photos validate the patents, showing Insta360 isn’t just dreaming – they’re building. If authentic, this could redefine portable cameras, blending 360° innovation with vlogging practicality.

Insta360 Pocket Camera Rumors 2026: Leaked Patent Details, Expected Specification and Arrival Date

Insta360 Pocket camera coming? Whispers of a 360 Pocket camera have been circulating all over the web, and even we have been asked many times about the same. Unconfirmed tips, cryptic hands-on forum discussions, as well as a lot of speculative posts on X, are floating around. All these things are suggesting that Insta360 may also launch a Pocket-style camera to compete against the upcoming DJI Pocket 4.

We all know that the DJI Pocket series dominates at the top, and most professional vloggers use the Pocket series cameras for their content creation. But what about a 360 Pocket-series camera? Does any truth exist? Are these just rumors? Are the people circulating information related to the Insta360 Pocket camera sharing pure speculation, or do these claims carry some level of authenticity?

Insta360 Pocket camera patent image

Here, our team at TheNewCamera.com decided to separate facts from fiction. So what did we do? We opted for the most reliable method to test the facts—a deep dive into patent databases. We evaluated hundreds of Insta360 patents, and it was truly a tough and challenging task. After all, if a concept has advanced to the patent stage, it is a strong indicator of potential real-world development.

And guess what—our search paid off. We uncovered detailed patent documentation describing a revolutionary camera design, and the overall design matches exactly with the Pocket series. So yes, we now have evidence pointing toward a Pocket-form-factor device, suggesting that an Insta360 Pocket camera could arrive for professional content creators and vloggers. Now lets dive into the details

If you’re searching for Insta360 Pocket camera rumors in 2026, this patent leak provides the most credible evidence yet. Filed under what appears to be a Chinese utility model (often focused on practical innovations), the document describes a detachable, fool-proof assembly system that could make this the most versatile pocket camera on the market. Let’s dive into the details, analyze the leaked images, and explore what this means for creators, vloggers, and tech enthusiasts.

What the Insta360 Patent Reveals: A Breakdown of the Modular Design

Well, the Insta360 patent clearly shows a Pocket-style camera, and not only that—the next thing we noticed was quite unbelievable. It appears to be a step-up and more advanced version of Pocket-style cameras, where the system can be assembled from the main gimbal unit, and only the camera module can be used wirelessly for shooting subjects.

This is not an entirely new concept. An Indian brand, IZI, has already created a similar Pocket-style camera, but the overall video quality was not very good, as with Pocket 3, and I have personally seen it. However, the design concept itself was very innovative, allowing users to assemble and disassemble the camera based on their usage.

In this approach, the camera acts as a wirelessly autonomous unit, and later, you can attach it back to the modular battery section in the same manner. I personally think that the Insta360 camera is also coming with a modular design, and you can explore this concept further by studying the patent in detail.

What the Insta360 Patent Reveals: A Breakdown of the Modular Design

The patent, titled something along the lines of “Handheld Cloud Platform” (a common translation for “gimbal” in Chinese patents), outlines a innovative handheld device comprising four key modules: a camera module, control module, power module, and connecting module. These components snap together to form a complete handheld gimbal, emphasizing modularity for easy upgrades, repairs, or customization.

Key highlights from the patent claims:

  • Component Functions:
    • Camera Module: Responds to shooting instructions to capture images or video. It supports interchangeable lenses, including a double-fisheye lens (for 360-degree shooting), wide-angle lens, or a 1-inch sensor lens for high-quality stills and video.
    • Control Module: Handles camera operations, likely including buttons, screens, or app integration for modes like time-lapse, stabilization, or AI tracking.
    • Power Module: Supplies energy to the system, possibly with swappable batteries for extended runtime.
    • Connecting Module: Acts as the backbone, featuring a housing with an accommodating groove where modules stack sequentially (e.g., power at the bottom, control in the middle, camera on top).

This setup resembles a vertical stack, much like the DJI Osmo Pocket 3, but with Insta360’s twist: lens versatility. Imagine swapping from a 360-degree fisheye for immersive vlogs to a 1-inch sensor for cinematic 4K footage—all in a pocket-sized body.

Speculated Specs and Features for the Insta360 Pocket Camera

While the patent doesn’t specify tech specs, we can extrapolate based on Insta360’s recent releases (like the Ace Pro 2 and Link 2 Pro webcam):

  • Video Capabilities: Up to 8K30fps in 360 mode or 4K60fps in standard, with PureVideo low-light enhancement and AI-powered stabilization.
  • Sensor and Lenses: Single 1-inch for better dynamic range. Interchangeable lenses could include fisheye for VR content or wide-angle for vlogging.
  • Battery and Build: Modular power suggests hot-swappable batteries for 2+ hours of runtime. Waterproofing (IPX8) and drop resistance, per Insta360’s standards.
  • AI Integration: Expect Deep Track 3.0 for subject tracking, similar to the Flow 2 Pro gimbal.
  • Connectivity: Bluetooth/Wi-Fi for app control, plus ports for external mics or screens.
  • Price Point: Likely $499–$699, positioning it between the GO Ultra ($299) and X5 ($499).

Rumors from tech forums (like Reddit’s r/Insta360) and X posts suggest this could tie into Insta360’s ecosystem, perhaps compatible with their Antigravity drone for hybrid aerial/pocket shooting.

Release Date Rumors: When Could the Insta360 Pocket Launch?

No official word from Insta360, but patents often precede products by 6–18 months. With CES 2026 wrapping up without a reveal, a mid-2026 launch (Q2/Q3) seems plausible—aligning with Insta360’s annual refresh cycle.

Stay tuned for more details coming
