According to NL the Canon 3D project is live at Canon and the further development / announcement will depend on the relative success of the 1D X, the 5D2 replacement, and Nikon’s D4 and D800. Canon EOS 3D Rumor started on Sep 2004 and we are still waiting for 3D…

Recent rumors suggest that Canon 5D Mark III will have Enhanced EOS HD Video with 18 Megapixel sensor(Same as Canon 1DX?) for flawless lowlight performance, According to NL “5D2 replacement will be aimed at ‘cleaning up’ in the DSLR video market, complementing the video specific 1 series mentioned at the recent Hollywood announcement. It was also suggested that it would not be any more than 18MP, and that any higher MP camera was ‘quite some time off’.”
