Leica Firmware of Leica M240 coming, this update will include new features like blue lines for focus peaking,
take a look at the major features below coming in upcoming firmware update
- Add blue lines for focus peaking
- Exposure compensation will work without pressing and holding down the button on the front
- Ability to set minimum and maximum ISO for auto setting as well as minimum shutter speed
- Improved virtual horizon / leveling overlay to live view
- Other improvements
The update is coming on May 24th, 2014… the date is also important because the long rumored Leica T Type 701 camera is also coming on the same date.

The X-T1 features 16.3 megapixel APS-C X-Trans CMOS II sensor and the X-Trans architecture based sensors doesn’t require / need low pass filter inside the, so you will get sharpness + all details at 100% when best available lenses used with X-T1. The sensor features ISO range upto 100-51200 and top continuous shooting speed up to 8fps.
The X-T1 comes with HYBRID AF SYSTEM that combines phase and contrast based technologies, Digital Split Image and Focus Highlight Peaking are two tech present in X-T1 help you when you are using manual focus.

Samyang (third party lens maker) uploaded a teaser on facebook (image above), it says :The second Step of Samyang Optics in 2014. Samyang Optics invites you to join the journey to the next level of creativity on April 28th 2014. We hope you to enjoy our proud new products.
As we have told you few weeks ago that Samyang is preparing to announce AF lenses soon, now finally we have some confirmations and according to online sources the Samyang will first announce the the 50mm and 85mm with AF, however we don’t have any confirmation yet. Stay with us more to come….

Upcoming Leica T Type 701 Camera Teaser surfaced over the web, as you can see above the Leica website is showing “About The Essence ” written in aluminum alloy (or similar) metal sheet, we have said earlier the product will be announced on 24th April 2014 (see here). Its a new trend in digital photography coming “shoot first and focus later”, the technology first introduced by Lytro in its light field camera (see at Amazon) after that Nokia introduced it re-focus app for windows phone, HTC also joined the force by announcing HTC M8 smartphone and finally google introduced “google camera app” the features DSLR type shallow depth of field and bokeh effects, however the app is currently limited to very high-end android OS based smart devices.
The app virtually simulate different aperture sizes to achieve desired bokeh effect, so theoretically now a smartphone can do everything for you just like a DSLR..
