 The latest CES update at Amateur Photographer UK has an update from Pentax that says
Pentax wants to develop its range of consumer DSLRs. A spokesman was tight-lipped over what we can expect but insisted its range must cater for all levels of consumer, including the lower-end. Pentax also admitted that the Thailand floods have caused a shortage of DSLR components.
Ricoh (in the last section) says
Ricoh may launch a Pentax K-mount version of its GXR system, as well as a variable-angle LCD monitor

GE wants to focus on higher-end compact cameras as smartphones hit the lower-end market. Next month it will release a new £150 compact called the G100 with features such as multiple exposure and HDR.

 Olympus teaser campaign appeared on the back of UK “Amateur Photographer Magazine” with High-lighted words OM, the slogan of the Olympus teaser campaign is “Oh My Goodness”, teaser also says “the latest Olympus classic in a long line of design masterpieces…” .
So the upcoming camera my be a redesigned Digital version of Olympus OM system, the upcoming camera is expected to be announced on “Focus on Imaging” trade show in Birmingham (UK) in March 2012.

 The EOS-1D X sensor has a 16-channel, dual line readout, compared to the 8-channel, single line design in the previous generation of chips. So 1D X have more pipes to get data from sensor, you get 12fps in RAW+JPEG mode and 14-bit color on every image and ISO 100 to 51,200 (standard ISO range) on the EOS-1D X — without any ISO expansion applied.
