Nikon Z7 III with 88MP BSI CMOS sensor [WILD RUMOR]

According to the latest information, Nikon is testing an 88-megapixel full-frame sensor [exctaly the specification was 88.48 FX-Format BSI CMOS Sensor], which may be used in the Nikon Z7 Mark 3 camera. However, it is not certain that this sensor will be included in the upcoming Z7 Mark 3 model. It could be used only for testing purposes or as a prototype in the LAB. To be very clear, it may not be used; it is only for testing purposes. This is a very high-resolution sensor, and we are 100% sure that all the latest Z series lenses can handle up to a 100+ megapixel sensor load and resolve it properly. However, at the same time, we are not sure whether third-party lenses.

45MP is not high resolution in 2024. There is space for a 60-100MP model, good to see Know working on HR sensor

Even though my made-up Z7III would have higher resolution than the Z8, the slower sensor readout of the partially stacked sensor, the thermal management considerations (due to size), and the handling of higher-resolution files would mean that the Z8 would retain advantages in focus, speed and video that would justify its higher price. No, need to focus on video, 4k 30p line skipping mode is enough
